Re: Size on disck: for data dvds?
Hi Matthew, When burning data you should be able, like you said, to burn as much onto a CD/DVD as it's capacity allows, 700 MB or 4.7 GB. Although you can overburn CDs/DVDs with most CD writers, I wouldn't advise it with Data. You can, especially with DVDs, be unlucky and the files might be corrupted on the DVD. Anyway, it's not that important to know how much exactly fits on a DVD. I usually check in the propperties that it's a little less than the maximum capacity. Usually the data you burn doesn't match up with the exact number of bits/bytes anyhow. The difference between the two sets of figures you get in the propperty line is due to the fact that one bit has eight bytes, not ten. Take care and hope that helps Alexandra - Original Message - From: Matthew Bullis matthewbul...@runbox.com To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2013 7:25 AM Subject: Size on disck: for data dvds? Hello Simon, correct. I said that it had both wired and wireless connections and that the modem connection was redundant. I should have said removed. The wired connection as you know, is an RJ45 ethernet port. I should be more specific in future posts. Thanks, Joe Paton . Recording from VCR
I recorded some shows on my VCR/DVD recorder. I did use tape since a DVD has to be finalized before you can use it on another machine and that finalization is not accessible. So I hooked audio cords to the audio RCA jacks on the back of the VCR and ran them across the room to my PC. I ran them into a splitter which has a plug which plugged into the line in on back of my PC. I have a hum which is recorded when I record the audio. Is there some way of getting rid of the hum so future recordings won't have them in them? Is there some way to get rid of the hum using software like noise clean-up? If your pc has bluetooth just search for bluetooth in the start search box then go to add bluetooth device. Once you've turned on the jambox the pc should find it and be able to pair with it. To switch back just turn the jambox off and it should switch back to your soundcard. HTH. I couldn't figure that one out either. Get the Freemake Video Converter instead. You just copy the URL then go to the edit menu and enter on paste. then go to the convert menu and go to mp3 and hit enter. There you have a dialog to set up the quality of the file and where to save it. Hi Joe, I'm assuming this is an internet radio product of some type. Exactly how does it work? Where do you get it? Can it be set up without sighted assistance? How easy and accessible is it to use? What does it cost? What else do I need to know? I've been wanting an internet radio for some time but have not felt sure about making the move. I do sometimes listen to stations on the computer and have a Pandora account but a dedicated radio where I can select favorites and setup presets would really be nice. I'm a bigband fan and that music is not readily available except from more obscure stations on the internet. I intend to Google it but today is the first I've heard of it so just haven't had time yet. Thanks so much. RE: Looking For New Youtube to MP3 Converter
Hi, Here is an article I put together from my experience in October of 2012. I use this one and it does great. Once you install it, all one need do is have the free youtube converter opened, visit youtube and chose a song, then copy the url from the address bar to the clpboard. Free youtube converter automatically starts converting the file and puts it into my music. All this is below. Good luck. it to the copy the url to the clp Free YouTube to MP3 Converter Version 3.11.34.1015 *I. Obtaining the file: 1. Go to the site below. http://dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-To-MP3-Converter.htm 2. If using a screenreader, press the letter h until reaching the heading of: Free YouTube to MP3 Converter If using a mouse, locate the heading shown above for a land mark. 3. If using a keyboard, arrow down five times. You will land on the link of: Download now Press enter on this link. If using a mouse, locate the link mentioned above and click on it. 4. The usual download prompt appears. If using a keyboard, Press alt plus the letter s for save. If using a mouse, click on save. 5. You can press alt plus s again to start the download. The file will probably be put in documents, downloads if using Windows seven. If using Xp, it will probably go to my documents, downloads. One can also navigate to a location where to download this file. 6. Once the file is finished downloading, locate it and click or press enter. *II. Instalation Directions: 1. After activating the exe file mentioned above, you will probably be asked to open or run this file. If using a keyboard, Press alt plus the letter r. If using a mouse, click on run. 2. You are asked to select a language. It is probably on the correct one. If in the US, english is selected. If in another country, I can not speak to that situation. I would think the program is set to select language in the country it was downloaded. Simply tab to okay andpress the spacebar. 3. From the keyboard, press alt plus n for next. Click on next with the mouse. 4. From the keyboard, tab once and arrow up once to I accept the agreement. If using a mouse, make sure this radio button is selected. 5. From the keyboard, press alt plus the letter n. Click on next with the mouse. 6. From the keyboard, press alt plus n. If using a mouse, click on next. This choice is asking where to install the program. So leave the default. 7. From the keyboard, tab across and uncheck the three checkboxes by pressing the spacebar. If using a mouse, uncheck all three checkboxes. 8. Press alt plus the letter n or click on next. 9. The next tool bar is up to the user. It says, download and convert faster. I chose yes. So tab across and make your choice. 10. Tab to the checkbox and uncheck it by pressing the spacebar. 11. Press alt plus n or click on next. 12. Press alt plus the letter n or click on next again. 13. You are asked to select additional tasks. Tab across and make your choices You will come to a vertical list of three checkboxes. I only left the add free youtube converter icon to the desktop checked. You can uncheck any of these by arrowing down to it and pressing the spacebar. One can also take the check out of the box with a mouse. 14. Press alt plus n or click on next. 15. Press alt plus I or click on install. 16. When the finished announcement appears, there are two options. First is launch the second is finished. If you wish to use the program now, tab to launch and press enter. One can also click on launch with the mouse. If you are finished for now, click on the finished button or tab to it and press enter. In this example I am going to tab to launch and press enter. I am now to get a song off of youtube. If you wish to first look at a step by step guide or learn more how to use this program in your own time, check out the two links below. There you have a dialog to set up the quality of the file and where to save it. I have tried other online converters, but they seem to crash IE9. The Youtube video to audio converters I have tried without success include listentoyoutube.com, and videotomp3.com. I am wondering if anyone has discovered a Youtube to audio converter that is equal or near equal to Youtube-mp3.org. I discovered while researching what was behind this sudden and strange development I was curious as to why Google is playing waterboy for ASCAP. However, I have subsequently concluded that Google has its own turf to protect, and it is the ring tone revenues they are likely receiving from the Android apps markets. IN any event, I would appreciate any suggestions.
