USB headphones with Windows 7
I had some USB headphones with microphone which I got to use on my previous PC. I wanted to use it so I could use Skype so plugged them in and Windows 7 home premium 64 bit PC found the drivers. So I go to the volume control on my system tray and choose playback. There is a combo box where I can go between the USB headphones and the RealTech speakers. I select one and tab to set as default and hit enter. but something weird is going on. When I select the RealTech speakers as my default all sound comes from my headphone. And the volume icon in the system tray says speakers. To be able to hear through my speakers I have to choose the headphone. so the icon in the system tray says headphone but the sound come from my speakers except for the sound from my media player of choice which is Dawm Pot player. so I have to wear my headphones to listen to media but JAWS comes through the speakers. I just tried it with iTunes and the audio from that program also comes through the headphones. What is making this weird thing happen and what do I need to do to get it straightened out? Re: S B Live
Thanks that is what I thought and will have to look at my Amp. Doug - Original Message - From: David McLean To: PC Audio Discussion List Sent: Sunday, February 24, 2013 5:02 PM Subject: Re: S B Live Yes. The digital output produces better audio quality by transferring the bits (all music on a computer is broken down into bits (as is all tother information)). If you want to use the digital output you would need to purchase a digital to audio converter. I am not sure if any of the Sblive cards had there own digital audio converters in them or not so you might want to check that out first if you have documentation with the card. My assumption is however that since there is a digital output on the card they want you to use an external digital audio converter. Digital audio converters come in all shapes, sizes, and quality not to mention cost. Also what kind of system are you going to run this into? If it's is a good system (your judgement is primary here) the digital audio converter would have outputs that you can connect directly into the input of your system and you should hear improvement in your musical sound. Hope that helps get you started.
