Hi all

I'm looking for some kind of recording program free if
possibly than can
record in .wav format. It does not have to have any
editing capabilities
at all - something like the windows sound recorder but which
can record in
.wav.

Does anyone know of something like that that will run on
windows 7 and with
jaws 14? I have audacity yes but would like to get
something simpler which
can record in good quality sound in a simple way.

   Hi, let me sugest this.
The best way is to get a head phone amplifier.
This arangment should only be used for inputs, because loading in inputs is
way less.

Get the headphone amp, you'l be glad you did.

Hi Evan,

Glad you found something. If it doesn't work let me know. I guess
what you want is two stereo male plugs terminating in a female stereo
with both stereos coming through in paralell.

Thanks for the offer. I found one on Amazon. I had to go through a number

wanted to have the stereo option. I finally found one that reviewers say
actually works in stereo for both inputs. We'll see when I get it.

overdriving the blue yeti usb microphone

2013-09-09 Thread André van Deventer
Hi all

I’m just very curious.

I find with this microphone that it is easy to overdrive it. Even with the
windows volume set to 50 percent I still need to turn the gain at the top
down completely in order to overdrive it.

Is this the case with modern better quality condenser microphones or is it
it the case with only this one?

It’s not a big problem – I’m more curious than anything.

Andre

 Greetings,

If you can get hold of one, very very dificult now to obtain, I suggest the
 Nakamichi 680ZX, this is a dual-speed, three-head, plus/minus 6% speed
playback, very very accurate allignment and assymuth control, machine is
built like a battleship, has RCA. inputs and outputs and a DIN 7-pin socket,
the purpose of which I have never discerned but presume it is some kind of
 in/out device.

Note: this machine was discontinued by Nakamichi I believe in about 1983 due
to rights issues hence it's difficulty in finding.

Needless to say, I have one, purchased second-hand some fifteen years ago.

The machine's speed even at 4.75CM/PS is very very good, it also handles
metal, chrome and feric tapes, by adjusting the settings, it can be made to
play tapes most others will not make any sense of.

the wind is very fast, but it treats tapes with care. I have used C180
cassettes on this machine and it handles them no problem.

I no longer have any of these, but plenty of c120 tapes and rarely have any
 problems with this machine.

Re: Looking for a Specific Type of Connector

2013-09-09 Thread Tom

I agree with Ken. Although what you need is a two in one out
mixer. A headphone amplifier most likely will have one input
and two or more outputs.

Your idea of having an adaptor with two inputs and one output
might work, but it could damage one or both pieces of equipment.

Hi, I can tell you about the stream.
The easiest way is to
Take the card out of the memory slot, put it in a card reader , then find
the music folder.

Then control c to copy the file or folder you want to place on your stream.
Go to the stream's music folder and do a control v to paste the the file or
folder in the vr$ music folder.

Take the card of your reader, after you close it.
Put it in your stream, and your dun.

Hello Andre
I use CDEX. It is simple but one has to use the jaws cursor a bit but one
can record .wav or mp3 and others.

Subject: accessible free sound recorder

Hi all

I'm looking for some kind of recording program free if possibly than can
record in .wav format. It does not have to have any editing capabilities
at all - something like the windows sound recorder but which can record in
.wav.

Does anyone know of something like that that will run on windows 7 and with
jaws 14? I have audacity yes but would like to get something simpler which
can record in good quality sound in a simple way.

Sorry to hear that. There used to be a free version at one time so it must
have been discontinued.

Greetings,

WavePad, by NCH Software mentioned earlier is not free, it works as a trial
for a fair time but then nags you to purchase.
