internet radio URL
Hi list, I hope this is not off topic, I want to no if there is a program wich can help me find the direct URL of a spisific station. I didn't ever use such programs and the only way I ever used web radio links on the pc was with total recorder and ITunes. Any help will be appreciated. -- Facebook: m.facebook.com/aidan.maher92 Skype: andries4451 Twitter: smarttalk7 Audioboo: www.audioboo.com/DjSpotlight

Re: internet radio URL
Well, I have the problem with a few stations. I want to put them in my victor stream, but I cannot find the direct URL. Stations like house frequency, tygerberg fm bosveld stereo just to name a few. Its fine to be able to listen with a program such as ITunes, but how to find that URL is the question. I no that once you have stations imported in ITunes then its quite easy to get the direct URL, but if you don't have it at all then I don't no. I see all the stations in tune in radio on the IPhone, but the app don't show the URL either, so I thought that on the pc side there might be an app that can somehow locate this. Re: internet radio URL
If you have the latest Victor Stream you can search for the station using the search feature in the victor. I just did but it found the station but did not start it. I search for south Africa and got 51 stations. -Original Message- From: Aidan Sent: Monday, March 17, 2014 9:25 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: internet radio URL Well, I have the problem with a few stations. Is there a program that at all compares with Winamp in quality for the Mac?
Well Listers, With the fast approaching end of support for Windows XP, it may be time to decide on either a new PC, or making the jump to a Mac of some variety. I have been a very happy Winamp user for the past decade or so. The program got even better and more convenient when Window-Eyes introduced scripting, and made Winamp an almost brand new program. Of course, the main things I like about Winamp are WE's ability to let one press a key to move from station to station, or stream to stream without having to go to the book mark menu. Another indispensable feature of Winamp is the graphic equalizer, along with all the useful presets. I'm sure all you Winamp users would agree with my sentiments on these features. I guess all I really want to know is if there is a similar program that might closely reflect Winamp and its conveniences on the Mac platform. When it comes to a new computer, at least in the very near future, I may be dreaming due to our families present financial situation, not too different from so many these days. But the idea of switching to a Mac has been under discussion. I'm not too sure I want to make the switch myself, but the inclusion of voice over might make the switch at least seem the more practical one. Anyway, if any Mac users would care to comment on this issue, I will be happy to discuss this off list, since I'm sure I will have a few more questions that will not pertain to the overall topic of this list. Thanks much in advance, Larry

RE: internet radio URL
Hi, have a look at Mike's Radio World. Don't know the link right know, but you'll find it easily with google. You have to download the m3u or other playlist files which include the url, if you open them with an editor. With the Plextalk Pocket I just copy the play list files into a certain folder. Maybe that's the same with your DAISY players. Re: anyone know anything about the Yamaha RX-V575 7.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver with AirPlay
Okay, 2 things. Firstly you might like to download the manual for the unit from the Yamaha site, Yamaha have gone out of their way to make their manuals available. Secondly, find out what the App is, download it to your device and see how accessible the App appears to be, perhaps the App also has a Demo Mode as the Denon Remote App does, in which case you can get a feel for the accessibility of the App before you buy the product. And finally, perhaps this receiver has a HTML Interface? Logitech UE Boombox, I Eat My Words
Yes I eat my words, after my previous experience with a Logitech Boombox system I made it clear that I'd never ever purchase another Logitech Boombox again, that product had serious design flaws. I'm now in the possession of a Logitech UE Bluetooth Boombox and I have to admit that the sound out of this unit - given its small compact boombox size - is quite stunning. No, the UE Boombox isn't the standard of some of the other pieces of equipment I have here but nor should one expect this given the price tag associated with the unit. The Boombox can handle up to 8 pieces of equipment paired at the same time, you might for instance take the UE Boombox to a party where you and your friends can take it in terns to play their favorite tracks. Build quality of the UE Boombox isn't lacking in any department, just damn good quality throughout with a nice metal grill all around for the speakers and a steel handle on the top. ** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane
