Re: Ripping Questions

2015-06-12 Thread Gary Petraccaro
I'm willing to poke around, but, so far, I'm only finding software that
doesn't do the meta data acquisition too well. I'm getting use results from
Express Rip. The one thing I like about that program is that I can rip a cd
to 1 track instead of the 99 that some of my audio books have and I would
prefer to avoid that. My old radio stuff doesn't seem to get anything
useful. So it seems like I'm going to want access to a good source for that
to save all the data entry. ITunes seems to do pretty well with that, but I
can't figure out how to change settings using WE 9.1.

Thanks.

Gary: I think Cdex does what you want to do; the only thing there is that
you have to tell Cdex that this is what you want to do as it doesn't do it
right out of the box! I've had that same problem when I used to rip with
WMP; I was able to delete the look-up thing (actually I think it's in
the
library) but couldn't tell you what I did...and don't know if I could
repeat

the process!

Does anyone know of a program which does rip cds and also uses a cd
database
to store track names and cd titles? WMP does, but I'm encountering
problems

when it sees two cds which it thinks have the same name and it refuses to
rip the second. I can't figure out how to override the lookup feature.
Thanks.

I'm looking for Cdex and can only find a version which says Portable. It's on

Thanks.

Any suggestions please?

2015-06-12 Thread Colin Howard
Greetings,

My post really relates only to those who use the BBC Listen Again facility
and are resident in the UK.

Please read this to the end unless you can suggest why this has happened, I
am trying to access listen again on the upstairs machine, I go to a program
and can't find anything which looks like a listen link, on the downstairs
system, you will note availability of programs is shown hence entering on
this takes me to an area from whence I may listen again.

I have not knowingly made any changes before this came into action, but on
my W7 machine, all of a sudden on one internal disk, I noticed my files and
folders reversed values, the files, highest value first, then my folders,
highest version first appeared, all other disks remained correct. This
proved to be corrected when viewing the properties of a file I discovered
the sort showed descending instead of ascending, correcting this set the
order back.

However, about the same time, my upstairs views via FF showed the following
- using today's R4E as my sample page on both upstairs and downstairs
machines.

Upstairs desktop machine, W7, downstairs laptop machine, wXP Home, FF (same
on up- and down-stairs machines.

Link used both up- and down-stairs.
