Re: Observation about the iPod Touch 6th Generation
Hi! I never expected the ipod to be as good as the iphone or the ipad mini. The problem with the ipad mini is that it can not be carried around easily. I have been looking for a kind of holster or bag to carrie around with but with no luck. /A > 7 jan. 2016 kl. 20:01 skrev John Gurd: > > Basically, the audio doesn't sound as good as I thought it would. Re: Observation about the iPod Touch 6th Generation
Good, you’re using that word rather generally I think. So when you talk of good, are you talking about audio quality, convenience or what? I myself - as previously stated - wonder why it is that the iPod - given varied reviews and comments I’ve read on the subject - doesn’t have as good a quality audio output through its Headphones socket as does the iPhone - and even then that’s not the best - when the whole idea of the iPod really is to play music in the first place. One can only assume therefore that Apple don’t really give a damn about the Audio Quality aspect of the iPod any more and probably want to kill it completely in the end anyway. I’ve not heard the quality of audio from the internal Speaker of the iPod, I’ve not owned an iPod since the forth generation iPod touch, the speaker in that was very small but audio was reasonable from that so if the Internal speaker has improved then that’s a good thing but I never ever deemed it totally necessary for an internal speaker in a device for music playback in the first place so its not a deal breaker for me - who in there right mind would listen to music through the Internal speaker of an iPod for long periods anyway - . On the other hand the speakers - yep two - in the iPad Mini 4 which I got for my Birthday last year are damn magnificent considering the size of the device, not stella stuff for music no but certainly great when you want to listen to radio broadcasts, watch audio documentaries, sit on the couch and work with your iPad all day, conduct voice/video calls and so on, I don’t want to overstate things but I reckon the audio from the iPad Mini would have to be about the best you’ll get from a tablet of that size. As for cases for the iPad Mini, its been my experience that whoever an iPad exists then the case you desire is not too far away and probably the best place to look for cases is on eBay, I found the cases I wanted there in around 5 minutes and they didn’t cost me an arm and a leg either. You could of course go to the Apple Store and see what they’ve got. > On 9 Jan 2016, at 9:17 AM, Anders Holmbergwrote: > > Hi! > I never expected the ipod to be as good as the iphone or the ipad mini. > The problem with the ipad mini is that it can not be carried around easily. > I have been looking for a kind of holster or bag to carrie around with but > with no luck. > /A >> 7 jan. 2016 kl. 20:01 skrev John Gurd : >> >> Basically, the audio doesn't sound as good as I thought it would. Re: Arcam Music Boost
Not at all, its a case that the iPhone slips into and you’d hardly notice. > On 9 Jan 2016, at 9:19 AM, Anders Holmbergwrote: > > Hi! > A bit to clumsy to ware around with. > My hearing is not as good as yours so i don’t care much about it. > /A >> 7 jan. 2016 kl. 20:12 skrev Dane Trethowan : >> >> Clever Man! >> >> I’ve ordered something similar, the Chord Electronics Mojo which can be used >> with iPhone, Samsun S6 or even a desktop computer. >> >> >>> On 8 Jan 2016, at 5:46 AM, John Gurd wrote: >>> >>> I've just ordered one of these to use with my iPhone 6 and B P7 >>> headphones. Hi! A bit to clumsy to ware around with. My hearing is not as good as yours so i don’t care much about it. /A > 7 jan. 2016 kl. 20:12 skrev Dane Trethowan: > > Clever Man! > > I’ve ordered something similar, the Chord Electronics Mojo which can be used > with iPhone, Samsun S6 or even a desktop computer. > > >> On 8 Jan 2016, at 5:46 AM, John Gurd wrote: >> >> I've just ordered one of these to use with my iPhone 6 and B P7 >> headphones. RE: Arcam MusicBoost adds a headphone amp, DAC and battery pack to iPhone 6 | What Hi-Fi?
A word of caution if you have a 6S as opposed to an iPhone 6. I saw a couple of reports of Amazon customers in the UK where people using the iPhone 6s had extreme difficulty removing the Music Boost once fitted to the phone. Apparently the 6S is fractions of a millimetre wider than the 6 and this is enough to cause too tight a fit. Also, be aware that the signal is one way, so the microphone and remote control functions of a headset style headphone will not work. That's put pay to any plans I had in purchasing one of these then as I have an iPhone 6S so I guess I'll just have to be happy with the Chord Mojo On 9/01/2016 1:07 AM, John Gurd wrote: Correction. Correction. The iPhone 6S is thicker, not wider, than the 6. It's only 0.2mm thicker, but this is enough to cause problems with certain cases, including the Arcam MusicBoost.
