Its unfortunate that the devices listed in the article don't appear to
be available in Australia yet.

As far as your house goes, there's nothing like having an efficient
household I reckon .

I bought a bunch of other Hive accessories including an electric plug, a motion

am out.

Sadly, I don't think the system works with the homekit yet so can't be
controlled by Siri but the Hive app is fully accessible. Its marvellous and I'm
certainly interested to know what else might be in the pipeline.

What can SIRI do for you in your home? The article linked to here provides some
answers plus recommending some hardware devices to get you started.

Im going to take a look on Google shortly to see exactly whats available in
Australia - if anything -.

Casio PX5 Keyboard initial impressions

2016-08-19 Thread Dane Trethowan

Hi!

I received this on Thursday afternoon and was shocked, the box was
nearly as tall as I am.

The PX5 is a full electronic piano but it offers so much more and so I
will write - from time to time - more notes on what this piano is
capable of.

Firstly the PX5 is truly portable, it comes in a carry case which has
pockets for all the accessories you may wish to Cary with you such as
Foot pedals, batteries, cables and so on.

The PX5 can be powered either by 8 AA size batteries or by the supplied
mains adapter.

I'll have to buy a stand for the PX5 though that doesn't worry me as I
knew I'd have to buy one.

No touch screens on this piano, just rows of buttons either to the left
or right of the display which are all single function to my knowledge.

The PX5 is fully MIDI compatible if you wish to use it with tools such
as Garage Band on the Mac.

You can save your compositions and settings to a USB memory stick for
later use in performances.

The piano sounds are wonderful along with the backings you can use such
as strings, organ and a wonderful drum kit.

The PX5 has plenty of connections and the first I noticed were the two
headphone jacks.

This piano does not have its own internal speakers so you either have to
listen through headphones or connect the piano through its line-out
jacks to a keyboard amplifier or mixing setup.

The keyboard is sensitive to the touch as standard pianos are.

I've not tried the pedals yet but I plan to do that later.

So a basic beginning to my Casio PX5.
