RE: New to the list, and just as new to computer audio.

I use 5.1 surround sound speakers and they are lovely sounding. I truly
enjoy mine and I use the latest version of Winamp.

Yes, welcome.

the only thing that bugs about WINAMP is that it won't support 5.1 surround
sound speakrers.

CD Burning Question.

2004-06-14 Thread Donna Miller
I'm wanting to use Winamp to burn my CD's. I already rip them with winamp
but would like to get Windows Media player out of the picture. I can't seem
to find the settings to change. I know it can be done because I did it one
time but can't recall how.

Well, nah, I'd be doing it with mp3's, but I'd still need a number to set
them all too. I'm using Mp3Gain.

Re: OT: or not? Concerning Michael Lang

2008-03-15 Thread Donna Miller
I'm so sorry to hear this news. It's sad when someone feels they have to do
this kind of thing.

We talk and write to people daily, but none of us know what they might be
struggling with and never mention it or ask for help.

  Gods!

This is horrible news. Although I didn't know him personally he is
certainly one of the good guys in our community as a whole and not just on
this list. He helped and touched all of us in some manner always there with
an answer whether we be pc novices or aces. My thoughts and prayers go out
to him and his family and for that matter all of us because we have lost a
true friend in michael he was our brother and we will miss and cherish him
  always and forever.

  Hi,
I'm terribly sorry to hear this. I never met Mr. Lang in any capacity, but I
work on a Crisis Intervention hotline and we deal with suicide on a daily
  basis.
as noted in this forum, suicide often devistates an entire community. Our
prayers wil be with his soul as well as his friends and family.

Re: mp3 players best for totally blind people

2009-02-18 Thread Donna Miller
The Victor stream is great, but since I can't afford one right now, I went and
bought a cheap one at the family dollar store.

I can read books in mp3 format and listen to music. that's good and when I turn
it off, it keeps my place when I turn it back on again.

It cost me about $30.00 and as soon as I can, I'm getting a victor Stream.

The victor reader stream is the most accessible player and I am not being
smart. If you just want to play music one file after
another any cheap mp3 player will do. but for total access to what you are
playing the stream is the player of choice. I even excuse the $300 price tag.
for the access you get that is a bargain.- Original Message -

Hi,

Can you please suggest a MP3 player or Ipod that is best for a totally
blind person to operate? Thanks.
