recording a zoom.us live video
I would like to join an online series of live classes that uses the zoom.us program for access. I am wondering how I might be able to record the audio as an mp3 for later listening or review? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Grant E. Metcalf Bartimaeus Alliance of The Blind, Inc. C Crane pocket radio
I bought one of the C Crane pocket radios and am satisfied with its performance. The price was $59 US plus shipping and California sales tax. It has lots of buttons which are easily identified. the top button on the right side of the radio selects AM, FM, and the weather band. The on/off button, volume wheel and earphone jack are on the very top. On the face of the radio you will find 2 vertical buttons which move up and down the dial. There are 5 buttons you can use to pre-select your preferred frequencies. Once you have located a station you hold down one of the 5 buttons for 2 seconds until you hear a beep and then repeat the process for the next station you want. There are more buttons and functions which I still don't understand and/or need at the moment. The sound is acceptable to my old ears. There is a 60 day return policy if you decide you do not want this radio. Hope this is helpful. - Grant Bartimaeus Alliance of the Blind, Inc. where to find a squeezebox radio
The discussion about the Squeezebox radio has caught my interest and I am wondering if anyone can tell me where a new one might be purchased. A reliable website would be acceptable--however, Logitech.com doesn't have them and squeezebox.com doesn't exactly offer what I am looking for! I live in the San Francisco Bay area if there should be a retail outlet anybody knows about. Thanks, Grant E. Metcalf Bartimaeus Alliance of the Blind, Inc. P.O. K-4 patch issues
Hello List, Recently the battery in my 20-year-old K-4 keyboard died and I lost the sound patches I had installed in 1995 using a DOS program, I for gotten which, however, I believe the extension on the patch bank(s) to be .c24, if that provides a clue. I have some patches dated in the early 1990's. I am now running Windows XP Pro on my desktop and have purchased a USB midi adapter. Kawai technical support recommended using a program called wsyex.exe. It only accepts files in its buffer up to 20-KB and the old .c24 files are 22-KB and so won't work even if wsyex would accept them. It uses syx and mid extensions, and what else I don't know. Any suggestions as to programs and/or help you may provide would be appreciated. BTW, I am on the digest list and for faster interchanges you also might cc or email me directly. Grant E. help with textaloud
Hello Listers, Recently I purchased Textaloud. I have made a couple of mp3 files using the At&t voice Mike, but do not care for it. I use the Window-Eyes screen reader and am wondering if anyone could help me get Textaloud to work with the Window-Eyes voice I use with my desktop? If you know of an mp3 recorder that I could plug into my computer and record directly from Window-Eyes that might also be acceptable. My goal is to make articles and books available via mp3 files to those who may not have access to a computer or screen reader. Thanks for your suggestions. Listening for His shout! Grant Metcalf P.O. Textaloud Help!
Greetings, I have recently purchased Textaloud and the AT&T voices Mike and Chrystal. I am using Window-Eyes 7.1. I have converted a text file book into 17 mp3 files using AT&T's voice, Mike. I am looking for somebody who might provide some helpful hints on using other voices, as well as perhaps some tips on improving inflection, et cetera. About the only changes I have done other than selecting Mike are: slowing speed to 5x and fixing the pronunciation on a couple of words. It might be helpful to know how to easily change voices, from AT&T natural to Eloquence or some other product, insert timely pauses and so forth. My goal is to make books and articles available to other readers on the web. The one book I have done so far is "Holiness: The False and the True" which can be found at: http://bartimaeus.us/pub_dom/holiness-mp3.zip Feel free to contact me directly at my email address or phone number below. I subscribe to the digest version of pc-audio and so my response to your comments may not be answered for a day or so. Listening for His shout! Grant E. Metcalf Bartimaeus Alliance of the Blind, Inc.
