Re: accessible tv tuning software with jaws
Hi Joanne If you are familiar with Winamp and Winamp plugins you may want to try the Winamp TV tuner plugin. The home page for this is: http://winamptv.zapto.org/ I am now using this with Jaws 8. Although I found it a bit tricky to set up properly, I now have it working fine. I had a TV card but it no longer works, so am needing to start over. I would like to buy software that is accessible with Jaws for watching my cable channels on the computer. If possible I'd like to be able to just download this software from the Net and then back it up myself. Does anyone have any good ideas for a TV tuner? Thanks. Re: screamer radio question
i Gary You can adjust the volume when playing a station stream in screamer radio with the left and right arrows. Only thing to note is that they work in the opposite way that you might expect. That is right arrow is vol down and left arrow is vol up. RE: Setting Up Shoutcast Server
Hi James I found the acbradio archives very helpful when I was doing this myself a few months ago. This is at acbradio.org in the archives for the main menu program. Jonathan Mosen did a number of very informative items a couple of years ago on broadcasting including shoutcast and Station Playlist. You should be able to find the editions of main menu containing these by searching on the archives page. I recently downloaded a shoutcast server program from the shoutcast web site. What I would like to do is set up my own server and not have to pay for one. I have my own four web sites and have a large amount of web space. Could someone assist me in setting up the shoutcast server? I'd like to use Winamp, the shoutcast plug-in, and the shoutcast server on my own site to get this done. I'd like to have a step-by-approach to what I need to do in order to get connected to my server and start playing music online. In other words, I need to know how to get the shoutcast server up and configured; then connect to it; and then play some music. Also, I would like to have some info or tutorial on the Winamp playlist or I can use Station Playlist. I have a week off so have the time to get started. Hope someone can get me started in the right direction. Thanks a lot. Separate audio mixer advice?
Hi I want to buy an audio mixer to use in conjunction with my PC soundcard. I mainly intend to use this to do some podcasting and possibly other internet broadcasting, so I don't think I need a lot of inputs. I have looked online and found a number available. My main concern is finding one that has faders that are easy to control tactilely. Suggestions and/or experience welcomed! RE: Veronica FM Transmitter frequency changing
Hi Thanks for your tips. I have now managed to tune my unit into the frequency I wanted. It did take quite a bit of trial and error though. The adjustment of the screw is very sensitive. I also felt more comfortable powering off the unit each time I made an adjustment. I am only using it within my apartment at the moment and it sounds just fine without the external antenna fixed. Subject: Re: Veronica FM Transmitter frequency changing Hi Jim. Snap! I got mine yesterday; magic, isn't it? Regarding your question. My brother, who has had one for a few months, advised me to tune my radio into an area between stations, then locate a screw hole on the base of the Veronica and turn the screw slowly, until the signal is picked up in the radio. Probably a job for two people if your radio or tuner is some distance from the transmitter. Best try a quiet song so you can tune it in closer, if you know what I mean. Get back if you experience problems. Incidentally, I ventured into my garden with a radio and managed to get about 100 feet before loosing the signal. The batteries in the radio are quite low so I'm going to repeat the exercise with new batteries. Best wishes. Andy from sunny Kilcreggan.
