Maybe I'm missing something here  Did you mean to say that you want a 
program to extract audio from mp3 files?  I thought mp3 files were audio.

reducing recording levels with goldwave

I have a CD that was burned with the recording levels set too high.  Is it 
possible to reduce the levels with goldwave?  Could someone tell me how if it 
is possible?

stripping audio from an avi file

could someone tell me where I could find software to make an mp3 file out of an 
avi file?  I thought loading a few movies on my mp3 player would give me some 
distraction during an upcoming trip.
