I have just finished listening to Neal Ewers podcast on the Zoom H1 and am inclined to agree with his conclusion that for $99 it is a very good value for what you get. FYI, Ewers confirmed the suspicion that it is not possible to pause a recording without ending the audio file. This is an inconvenience, but as both Dane and I have mentioned, this is nothing a sound editor can't take care of to remove unwanted audio. My only question at this point is whether the user manual is in an accessible format. Thanks in advance. for julie tips on Zoom H1 recording times
Subject: [access-uk] Re: for julie tips on Zoom H1 recording times Hi Julie, recording with line in is just the same, but careful of the level. If you plug some headphones in, take the recording level right down, connect your source, then bring the level up till it sounds ok. Do the same if you're using an external mic. It's always handy to have a pair of headphones handy. Let me know how you get on, John. - Original Message - From: JULIE RODAWAY To: access...@freelists.org Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2011 10:35 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: for julie tips on Zoom H1 recording times Hi John Many many thanks for all this info. Re: Question re Zoom Series Digital Recorders
Hi Rob The H1 does indeed record in wav format. - Original Message - From: Rob Tabor rob.ta...@sbcglobal.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, March 20, 2011 4:36 AM Subject: Re: Question re Zoom Series Digital Recorders Hi, Julie. Thanks for the tip and the link to the podcast on BTC, which is a very diverse and informative web site to which I hope to become a contributor in the not very distant future which is one thing I have in mind in wanting to invest in a high quality but economically priced recorder and there appears to be a very strong consensus that H1 meets those criteria. I am surprised if there is no pause function, in which case the 2 options are either to stop the recording altogether and create multiple audio files to record the same session or event, or, in the alternative, let the recording run and remove unwanted audio clips with Goldwave after migrating the audio files to the PC. BTW, I have heard the Zoom H1 records in WAV format. Is this true? It seems WAV is easier to manipulate and reprocess because it is a lossless format. This would be advantageous as I can always convert the files to MP3 with GW. Thanks to Julie and all for your very informative guidance. problem with freedom pro keyboard
Have paired the keyboard up to a nokia E52 and have been advised that the pairing is successful. However, when I try to interact with the phone using the bluetooth keyboard, it is as though there was no device at all. Even when I test the keyboard going onto the freedom pro keyboard application on the phone, it advises that the keyboared is disconnected. Any help with this puzzling problem would be appreciated. Re: goldwave questions
Hi Rob Go into the control properties with F11. Then, look for the volume tab. After you see the mike volume, there should be an option to check or uncheck. Don't check it. Scrolling on, you should see options for stereo mix. Make sure options here are checked. This should allow gold wave to capture audio from your soundcard so it should catch the audio streams from the web, providing you have them running through that. Hope this helps. Any clarification needed, get back to me and I'll be pleased to further assist. - Original Message - From: Rob Tabor rob.ta...@sbcglobal.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, May 02, 2010 5:58 AM Subject: Re: goldwave questions Hi, Julie and all. Can you kindly tell me how to record streaming audio from the web using Goldwave? I have looked through the user control preferences tabs and find no option that allows recording from the web. Perhaps a stream ripper is required to capture the streaming web audio which is then loaded as a supported GW file? Thanks in advance.
