press control p for prefferences.

go down to media library plug ins.

remove the on-line services plug in.

That should fix it.

I'm not sure that this is the exact plug in, but there are 16 loaded at
startup on this instalation so you may need trial and error.

I  honestly have no idea, but; try the "winamp for the blind"  list and see 
if anyone knows, also; if you are with serotek they might know on sero or 
system access.

Please tell me how to turn off the feature in Winamp which attempts to 
search a data base such as Grace Note whenever one launches an audio cd. 
Many of my audio CDs are home brew, so obviously such a search is 
pointless.
