playing mkv files with cccp
Hello everyone, I just downloaded a tv show that uses the mkv file format. For those of you who use the cccp player also known as home media classic cinema, do you know if this accessible player will support the mkv file format? Thanks. Mike
Re: does anyone know how to convert MKV files?
Goldwave does it easily. I think CDEx does as well. I am finding some programs that only seem to be available in MKV, and I'm pretty sure Replay Converter doesn't support this format. Is there anything out there that is accessible and that will take the video off files with an MKV extension? Thanks. Re: does anyone know how to convert MKV files?
Hi, There's a tool called MKVtoolnix that allows you to extract the various stream such as video and audio out of an mkv and it tells you what format they are. An mkv is just a container that can have different things in it. RE: dvd blueray creating mkv files
I am needing to find the developer of makemkvd to ask to see if they will enable the QT accessibility features. Once this is done it will be usable, but I'm not having any luck contacting them yet. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: dvd blueray creating mkv files
Hi Jim and all, I don't know much about bluray ripping, but there's a program called AutoMkv that can help you to rip a dvd into mkv format. For demuxing streams from a bluray a command line software called eac3to should do the job. hth, best regards, gianluca skypeID: gianluca8815 Il 05/03/2012 19:48, Jim Ruby ha scritto: Hi, is anyone doing this ripping their dvds or blueray movies to mkv files? Well, I cannot highly recommend the program listed in the subject enough! Here was my scenario. I wanted to watch a DVD, Toy Story 3, on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop. The DVD has audio description. Anyway, I tried playing it with Media Player Classic Home Cinema, a DVD and general media player that comes with the Combined Community Codec pack. Well I couldn't get as far as the menu could I! Plus, the menu system of the application completely disappeared! So next I tried VLC Media Player. This was slightly better in that I could get at least the first chapter of the DVD played. But when it moved onto the next chapter it repeated the first one! So finally, I tried to play it with DVD Audio Extractor. It worked a treat! The entire DVD played fine with absolutely no problems! So my recommendation for a fully accessible, easy to use DVD player, which also happens to extract audio, is DVD Audio Extractor, www.castudio.org. Unless there is another similar DVD player out there that is just as fully accessible and easy to use, I might consider purchasing the program! Hope you like my recommendation, and happy viewing!
