A question about cd burners
Hello again, I had previously posted about a reading problem with my cd burner, and plan to purchase a disc cleaner later today. Wish me good luck g. But that begs a question. I am wondering how Nero goes about verifying the files if the disc can't be read? I guess I'm revealing my obvious lack of the mechanics of burner tech here, but I'm wondering if burners such as mine (the Lit-on LTR-352327S) are equipped with one or two lens. Does it read and write with the same one, or separate lens. If not, why could the same lens write, but not read? Since this burner came with my computer, I think it only cost about $50 or something in that range, and that might give some sort of clew as to its features, or lack there of. Re: A question about cd burners
Hello again Larry, Some expensif cd burners do have two linses in them, but I don't think yours has two linses in it. But to be sure, you mite try looking the manufacturer up on the net. If anything, they will be able to anser that quesgen. And as for Nero, I wish I could help you with that issue, so again, see if you can find that out on the net too. I would give you there addresses, but aforchenetly, I don't have them. My apoligies for that. My best regards to you all. - Original Message - From: Larry Higgins [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Thursday, June 07, 2007 2:34 PM Subject: A question about cd burners Hello again, I had previously posted about a reading problem with my cd burner, and plan to purchase a disc cleaner later today. Re: question about CD burners and software
Hi, I'm sher you'll get more specific replies, but I do know that in most such programs there are options you can choose that do change burning characteristics. This does presume what to me, at least, are pretty advanced notions of when and why one would change from the defaults. The defaults assume that you wanna play the thing on a conventional machine in a conventional way etc. Jay At 03:21 AM 10/6/04 -0700, you wrote: This question may seem a bit confusing in how I am asking. Does the software one uses have any affect on the burning of a CD and are there burners that burn better than others. I come from an analogue background where everything is a part of the result, source, type of recorder, setting levels, and so on. If I find a burning software program I like, will it matter which one, and will the end result then be dependent on my burner, and are their higher quality burners. thank you ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
