allofmp3 explorer mysteriously disappeared?

2006-08-12 Thread Kathy Szinnyey
Hey gang! Last night and tody when I went to run allofmp3 explorererer, and
odd thing happend. I opened it, pressed OK to start the Wizzard, but it's
as if allofmp3 just disappeared or wasn't there in the first place. I
didn't get JAWS telling me it was running, I didn't get any messages at all.
I can't find it in my system tray, cana't find it anywhere. When I try to
run it again, I get a message saying allofmp3 exploerer is running, use
first program. But it just ain't there! Anyone else having this going on?
I went to the site, thinking maybe it was not up, but it's there. Just
something odd with allofmp3 explorer. Weird.

Peace,
Kathy

Hi, Andre and all: I use alofmp3 Explorer as well and find that the easiest
way for me to use it is to go to the Help menu in allofmp3 explorer and arrow
down to the allofmp3 Home page and clicking on that. When you request your
files from the allofmp3 home page while you still have allofmp3 explorer open,
allofmp3 explorer just grabs those files and starts automatically downloading
them. I find that much easier then trying to use allofmp3 explorer by itself.

Yes, Patrick, that is correct. My feeling is that
allofmp3 is run entirely on a unix-based system

always resolve the issues with space chars in
file names - get the number of quote marks wrong and you're stuck!

Re: ALLOFMP3 EXPLORER

Yes, if you use the browser and not the explorer, there is a button at the
bottom of the song list that is a select all button. There is I'm sure a way
to do it with their tool, I'll find out and get back to you this afternoon.

Chuck

P.S. I agree, it is a very well kept secret.

Thanks very much. Wish I could get it to remove the underline symbol
between words in a title though. Oh yes - is there a way to download a
complete album at once and not have to download tracks individually?

Must say allofmp3.com is one of the best music sites I have seen in a long
time - especially considering that it is legal and the prices are so good!

I have used the explorer for downloading my stuff
but I find I just go to the website to find what
I'm looking for. When I do use the explorer I
find it very easy to use. Once I got my settings
the way I wanted I have to navigate very little in there. I am also a WE user.

I use the mp3 tag program to do that with that site, and make the accent
signs into apostrophes. It is real hard to automate renaming of those files
to a simple artist - track.mp3. It adds all this lame 128 or lame 192 and
other garbage to the name.

Re[2]: ALLOFMP3 EXPLORER

2006-01-25 Thread Patrick Perdue
Hello André,
Right, but underscores don't break pronunciation by speech synthesizers,
unless you've got a really messed up system.
In some command-line operating systems, you can put the file name in
quotes and maintain spaces, but they don't all work like this.

On Thursday, January 26, 2006, 12:55:43 AM, you bellowed the following:
I still don't like them! I prefer spaces between words and apostrophes
instead of accent signs. It also makes pronounciation by the synthesizer
