Any luck with using last.fm?
Has anyone successfully used www.last.fm to listen to music? Between this site, slacker.com and pandora.com being inaccessible, I am really starting to get discouraged. I am looking for some good streaming audio to listen to at work. For some reason, ACB Radio and Live365.com's media streams will not play on my PC at work, although the ones at sky.fm and Yahoo will. I cannot install Winamp or play AOL Radio because it requires installation of an app and I do not have administrative rights at work, so this will not work either. I am just a little tired of the same ole CDs and audio streams and was hoping to find another service I could use. Thanks for any insights. Re: Any luck with using last.fm?
There was a post on the Fred's Head Companion regarding this service, search at http://fredsheadcompanion.blogspot.com/ Meanwhile, I've stumbled onto http://www.accuradio.com which has a multitude of channels. It uses an imbedded player, but one that is accessible. With JAWS 8, I can set the volume, and the volume adjusts independently of the volume of EloQuence. It will indeed be sad if the proposed copyright provisions mandating royalties put these guys out of business. they're only weak in areas of world music. Dean Checked by AVG Free Edition.
