I was pleasantly surprised to see an "Audio Balance" control as a feature of 
IOS5 on compatible devices such as iPhones, iPads and Ipod Touches, you'll find 
this feature under Settings, general and in the Accessibility section.  Some 
people with various hearing impairments - where say one ear has more hearing 
than the other - may find this feature of benefit.  Also note the "Audio 
Mono/Stereo" toggle, when turned on all audio is produced through headsets and 
other audio devices connected to your IOS5 device in mono, this feature has 
been around in earlier versions of IOS.
