Script for Easy CD-DA Extractor now Available

2012-02-08 Thread Steve Pattison

Hi all,

A Window-Eyes script for Easy CD-DA Extractor has just been released. It
can be downloaded from www.gwmicro.com/sc or you can get it through the
AppGet or Install Packages script. Information about the script is
below. -Steve.

Easy CD-DA Extractor Enhanced 1.0
by Vic Beckley

This app causes the main control where the song titles show up in all
three parts of the program to speak automatically as you arrow through
it. The checked or unchecked status will not speak. FYI, in the CD
Ripper portion of the program, all titles are selected when you first
insert a CD. If you move the selection, then all are unselected and you
have to press the spacebar on a title to check it. This app also adds
the following default hot keys:

Control-T in the CD Creator portion of the program checks how much time
you have used on your disc and how much time there is left. Control-1
goes to the Audio CD Ripper. Control-2 goes to the Audio Converter.
Control-3 goes to the CD/DVD Creator. Control-4 goes to the Metadata
Editor. Control-L goes to the list of files in each portion of the
program. Control-B starts a burn task when in the CD/DVD Creator.
Control-E erases a rewritable disc when in the CD/DVD Creator.
Control-Shift-I creates a disc image when in the CD/DVD Creator.
Control-I burns a disc image when in the CD/DVD Creator. Control-R
starts the ripping process when in the Audio CD Ripper. As a hint,
bringing up the context menu while in the list of songs in any of the
program yields many valuable options. I am working on getting the app to
notify you when a burning task has been successfully completed. If you
have any problems, comments or suggestions, please contact me by E-mail.
For your convenience, I have added a menu choice on the Apps Menu which
will open a blank message in your default E-mail client addressed to me.
There are several other helpful options there.

Regards Steve.

Well it's good to hear that accessibility is on its way back to what
it used to be.

I've also noted a new feature which will come in handy when you're converting
batches of files from one audio format to another, Easy CD DA Extractor will
now convert multiple files at once.

for example, suppose you have a batch of 500 wave files to convert to MP3
format, Easy CD DA Extractor - by default - will cary out 2 conversions at
once, so the first 2 files will be converted together followed by the next 2
etc, in older versions it was 1 file at a time.

You can control how many conversions Easy CD DA Extractor handles at once,
default is 2, for slower computers you may wish to scale this back to 1.

The only other CD Riping software which offered this function for the Windows
PC to my knowledge up till now was Exact Audio Copy.

slight correction, with the previous version of this product not even system

I can navigate the settings for MP3 format too! that makes a welcome change.

Re: Easy CD-DA Extractor Version 2011.3 is now Available

2011-05-30 Thread Dane Trethowan
Okay I'm pleased to say that it seems the latest build of Easy CD DA
Extractor has some fixes or changes which make things more accessible
than they have been, I can now select my output location for output when
ripping, how nice and that's a huge step forward again, this certainly
couldn't be done in the previous version under any screen reader I tried
it with and I used 4 of those.

Okay, well firstly I've not looked at the latest version yet, problems?
Where does one start. Firstly I cannot for the life of me work out how
the hell you're supposed to select your output directory. Next, all the
extra configuration options for the MP3 format for example don't seem
to be avaiable any longer.

Yep, its fine! if you just want to convert files from the context menus
but that's not what I bought it for.

I think knowing there's a new version out there is useful information
whether someone has the time to determine if accessibility has changed

information. I'd also suggest that if you want to encourage him to
provide that information you'd do it in a more straightforward and less
backhanded way.

Hi!

It seems that in later versions of this product you cannot configure
custom output formats as you could with earlier versions of Easy CD DA
extractor, here's an example of the sort of thing I'm talking about.

I use MP3 VBR quality for my work however it would appear that I cannot
configure Easy CD DA Extractor to encode to this standard any longer,
all I get is the constatant bit rates of 128KBPS and so on with no
option it seems to create entirely new profiles, am I missing something
here?

Cheers!

Easy CD DA Extractor, configuration of output formats

2010-12-18 Thread Dane Trethowan

Hi!

It seems that in later versions of this product you cannot configure
custom output formats as you could with earlier versions of Easy CD DA
extractor, here's an example of the sort of thing I'm talking about.

I use MP3 VBR quality for my work however it would appear that I cannot
configure Easy CD DA Extractor to encode to this standard any longer,
all I get is the constatant bit rates of 128KBPS and so on with no
option it seems to create entirely new profiles, am I missing something
here?

Cheers!

Well that's good news, after all I did buy it smile but I did think that the
accessibility issues ran deeper than just a fix, I.E. it was more to do with
coding and libraries that the software was using and to fix the problem
completely would necessitate a complete re-write? Well we'll wait and see.

Easy Easy CD Da Extractor

2010-09-10 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!

I'm using Window-eyes, is Easy CD DA Extractor just becoming more and more
unusable and inaccessible or is it just me?

Just downloaded the latest update hoping that it might be more accessible than
the previous one but on my system half the buttons don't seem to show, for
example I used to be able to set up profiles for the formats I wished to
convert to when ripping audio cd,s I can see say MP3 and then a combo box with
the bit rate but none of the configuration files I created for specific and
custom MP3 settings, anyone got any thoughts on this?

The Convert or Rip button seems to have disappeared too! can't see that
anywhere on the screen let alone get f8 to work, this used to be the Start
Convert shortcut.

If you're burning a cd it seems to me going into it from explorer is the
easiest way to select the albums you want to burn.
For ripping I would use exact audio copy in Windows. It works better and is
more accessible.

Hi

If you have a license, I believe it's free up-dates for
life. If you go to their website, log in using your e-mail
address and serial key, you can get the downloads free of
charge. One thing though, if you install the ultimate
version, it doesn't remove the previous version so you will
have to copies installed which is unnecessary.

accessibility.

Shame because later versions than 11 have heaps of fixes in the ripping of CD'S
which make results far more accurate, numerous fixes in encoders etc.

Yes perhaps their is a way for instance to easyally organize track order
when burning CDs. Using jfw10/11 found those later versions frustrating even
using the audio converter navigating the list of files selected was
difficult.

I have to admit to not using it much these days, better solutions around
smile however if you're a registered owner of the software and you have
nothing else then its come a long way and results of ripping - as I previously
mentioned with the later versions - are incredibly accurate, nearly as good as
what you get with Exact Audio Copy for Windows and XLD with the Mac.

if you mean to place the storage for your converted files.
use system access to go or system access and you can get to that button with
out any problem.
you do insert m and then tab until you hear storage folder button and you
can enter on it and choose the place for your converted files.

easy CD DA Extractor

Hi!

I've just downloaded the latest Easy CD DA Extractor and I have to say that
this software has come a very long way and is nearly as good as Exact Audio
Copy now when it comes to ripping CD'S but I have one accessibility problem
that others may have found a way around, how the hell do you tell Easy CD DA
Extractor what output folder you wish to use?

I'm using Window-Eyes by the way.

I have some Easy CD DA Extractor scripts installed though I don't know whether
they've been updated, I'll check that now I come to think of it smile.
Anyway if anyone has any tips then let me know.

if so launch system access to go. go to the converter and then do insert m

Audio Copy now when it comes to ripping CD'S but I have one accessibility
problem that others may have found a way around, how the hell do you tell
Easy CD DA Extractor what output folder you wish to use?

I'm using Window-Eyes by the way.

I have some Easy CD DA Extractor scripts installed though I don't know
whether they've been updated, I'll check that now I come to think of it
smile. Anyway if anyone has any tips then let me know.

Certainly no mention is made about improved accessibility, and the last

Ah, sorry about that. I assumed that you were in the Script Manager. Okay,
open up Easy CDDA Extractor. Press Insert-0 which will bring up the Script
Manager and open the associated script file. Chances are good that it will
be empty. Paste the text from David's message into this file and press
Control-S to save and compile the script.

Now, arrow down through the information until you get to the line that says
Script, which is the beginning of the script for locating the button. Now,
press Control-D to bring up the properties for this specific section and tab
until you get to a check box that says something about assigning it to a
hotkey. If this isn't checked, check it. If it is checked, keep tabbing
until you get to an edit box and then press the key combination that you
want to use. Tab to Okay and press Enter. Finally, press Control-S one more
time to save and compile the script and then exit with Alt-F4.

From within Easy CDDA extractor now, press your chosen hotkey and see if it

works. Good luck.

Caroline,

It seems that the script, as David gave it to us, only works as intended if
the mouse pointer/JAWS cursor is already somewhere near the browse button,
when the script is triggered; otherwise, it fails. Is there code we can add
to the beginning of the script, to specify the JAWS cursor's starting

As I said earlier, I did use the merge utility.

As it turned out, I didn't need to re-edit the .jss file; that must have

Caroline,

It seems that the script, as David gave it to us, only works as intended if
the mouse pointer/JAWS cursor is already somewhere near the browse button,
when the script is triggered; otherwise, it fails. Is there code we can add
to the beginning of the script, to specify the JAWS cursor's starting
position?

Caroline,

I don't know what I did right. But, now, David's script IS working as
expected. When I pres alt-b (the key combination I assigned to the script),
the browse to location dialogue opens, and my focus is on the OK button of
the dialogue.

Thank you for your help in teaching me to assign a key to a script; and
thank you, David, for the script.

Blessed Be,

Okay! My first ever script works! But, you're right; it doesn't take me
where I want to be; although, in my case, it's taking me to the Genre edit
combo box, not to the browse folder button.
David?

2008-12-06 Thread Dana S. Leslie

Great idea, David!
I think I know enough to copy and paste the lines below (now that you've
have given them to us) into an ezcddax.jss file, and to compile and save it.
But

how do I, then, assign a hotkey to the script?

Thanks.

HI,

Why not just put the following into a new script file for Easy CD-DA
Extractor and assign a hotkey. That's what I've done and had access to
the
browse folder button since it came out. I mean it is actually a browse
folder button except the author hasn't shown it properly in the dialogue
to
us. But if you use the home row utility of jaws, you will indeed find
this
browse folder button in there. Anyway, here is the script code and modify
it how you want. Oh it goes without saying that I don't support this code
so use at your own risk. Also, I'd be sure you know a little bit about
jaws
scripting if you want to use the below code.

; Cut from below this line

Include HjGlobal.jsh ; default HJ global variables
Include hjconst.jsh ; default HJ constants

Script ClickBrowseFolderLocationButton ()
Var
Handle grip
Let grip = GetAppMainWindow (GetFocus ())
Let grip = GetFirstChild (GetFirstChild (GetNextWindow (GetNextWindow
(GetFirstChild (GetFirstChild (GetFirstChild (GetNextWindow (GetNextWindow
(grip)
SetFocus (grip)
Pause()LeftMouseButton ()
EndScript
