Goldwave help
I recently installed GoldWave v5.10 and the JAWS scripts. I am trying to record from an old tape recorder to my hard drive. I think I followed the help instructions in appendix D. What I am getting in my file is my speech output from JAWS. Any suggestions? Thanks. Goldwave help
I use Goldwave and recently, after making a recording and playing back in the goldwave screen everything sounds fine, after closing the Goldwave editor, and playing the same file, from my computers music files, the recording plays in reverse.. Can anyone help me get my Goldwave from playing files in reverse? I locate the file in Goldwave and hit the reverse function under effects, and save it, but as soon as I leave the goldwave editor, and play the file from my computer, REVERSE! goldwave help
Hi, I've been using goldwave for a while for file conversion, but never attempted sound editing. I've a book which is too long to fit onto my MP3 player, so I want to cut it up. I want to start by eliminating the credits at the beginning. I've opened the file in a goldwave sound window, and immediately pressed left bracket to insert a start marker, (I've used shft9. I've then played the credits and set a finish marker at the point where the start of the reading takes place. I've done this with right bracket, (shft0). I then pres del, and the entire file goes away!. I also thought that on the second to bottom line of the screen I should be able to see the entire length of the file, together with what's selected. I can't. Any ideas? Thanks, R ob --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Hi, Reed. You need to go into the windows Volume Control, also accessible from the Control Properties dialog of Goldwave, and choose the line in jack as your recording source. right now your source appears to be wave output.. HellO! Try to go in to the recording properties by pressing f11 and ctrl-tab to the volume property sheet. Check the line-in instead. You're mistaking brackets and parentheses. The brackets are the two keys to the left of the backslash. Shift 9 and shift 0 are parentheses. RE: goldwave help
That's what I was trying to do, however I was using the wrong brackets. I don't need to place one at the start of the credits, as there's automatically one at the start of the file. One question, goldwave seems to take ages to open files. I understand that it's because it's converting the file to .wav, but would this be helped if I got more memory on my system? Re: Goldwave help
Greetings, sorry can't help with tutorials but having just checked for GoldWave updates, nothing shown, so the latest, V5.67, is fine. As I am an XP Home user, maybe I do not receive notification of the program, which, so I understand, will in future, not support my system. Colin Howard lives in Fareham, Southern England. Hey, Loren. Glad to see you posting on the PC Audio List. I think you'll find a lot of good info hear if you want to go ahead and subscribe. As to tutorials for Goldwave, the Blind Geek Zone by Rick Harmon has a very thorough series of audio tutorials which can be found at http://www.blind-geek-zone.net/bgz-audio-archives/#Goldwave. You can also find some very useful JAWS scripts for GW, which Harmon also demos in his podcast series. Goldwave help needed
I am using version 5.68 of Goldwave with Window-eyes 8.2 on a windows 7 64-bit system. I continue to struggle so as to be able to use the VU meters. In the Goldwave manual, I found the following but do not understand just where to find it so as to achieve the desired result. Accessibility Interface If a screen reader is active when starting GoldWave, the program automatically changes its interface slightly to be more screen reader friendly. Screen reader mode can be switched on manually by using GoldWave Setup in the Windows Start menu and checking the Force screen reader mode box. The status visual in the Control window becomes a text box that gives the elapsed time, the current status, and the peak levels (in parentheses). The levels are reset whenever playback or recording is restarted. The levels are given in percentages, but tabbing to the text box and pressing D changes it to decibels. Pressing D again changes it back to percentages. Press R to reset the peaks. Press P to pause updates to give time for the screen reader to read it. These keys only work when the status visual has the keyboard focus and the keys have not been assigned Don Roberts To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
GOLDWAVE HELP -- changing bitrates?
Hi Everyone: I have an MP3 music file that was recorded at 44.101KHZ, 128KBPS. I want to resample at 11025KHZ using either 16KBPS or 64KBPS. Looking under the Effects menu, I was able to do the resampling OK, but could not change the bitrate. I'd appreciate the HEADS-UP on how to CHANGE THE BITRATE. Thanks for all help!
