Cool man! Going to check this out. I have VLC but there's something
annoying about it. I have a randomized playlist because that's who I am
smile. Unlike Winamp for the other platform I cannot search for a file
and the results appear in a separate list. Sure you can search the
playlist made but the table still shows the entire list. I'm not asking
for help here; just going to see if this Decibel can do this for us.

Yes, in many ways it can, its an audiophile player, to put it simply the player
- amongst other things - will play a CD in your drive as you’d hear it through
a good quality CD player hooked up to your Hi-Fi system, its also designed to
handle all the HD audio files out there.

Don’t get me wrong, VLC is still a nifty player but just doesn’t have the
audiophile features that decibel does though perhaps you could add those to VLC
through plugins? It is an open source project after all.

Ho do you mean it ccan play CDs like a CD player? Are you suggesting that
instead of treating the tracks like files it can go threw them and the empty
spaces between like an actual CD player does?

2014-11-10 Thread christopher hallsworth
Ok all
I like the app, but it's very slow at adding my tracks to a playlist. Mine is a
large one, over 7,000 in total. VLC however adds them instantly and are
available immediately. With Decibel I have to wait at least two minutes
otherwise I will be told that the app is busy. This may be no big deal for some
but is for others like me. So for now I'll just use the trial till it runs out
then go back to VLC. Options are good though smile.

Certainly it decibel can play SACD’S and plays them very well.

Here’s a more detailed review of the software, as you’ll see this player puts
iTunes and VLC out of the race if you want to enjoy quality sound from your
Music.
