Re: marking memory sticks
Yes, you just hold down one button and record away. As much as you like. Then when you go back later and hold the pen over the glue on sticker it reads back whatever you recorded. Get better tape for your label maker. You have tape with too little glue on it. I use the label maker you described all the time. re marking memory sticks
Hi rick, is it really off topic, if you need the information. when i was six years old, my mother started to teach me braille by hand. this was in 1939, when there were braile machines, but we didn't have one. there was something called a hand frame. imagine a gide with cells in it. 26, to be precise. in each cell, there was six depressions. one used a thing called a style to press out the separate dots. the style passed through the paper, and wen in to the depression, leaving the dot behind. many years later, the rnib in britain, sold a pocket frame, which not only had rows of these cells, but also had two slots, on each side. through these slots one can pass a narrow tape. the slots puts the tape beneath one of the rows of cells. there are in fack two sets of slots, for different width of tape. it is one of the devices that i am using. i have marked some memory discs, but some of them have nowhere to write, or only a small space. i like to put a number followed by the capacity of the memory stick. i should have thought that the foundation for the blind in america would have had these pocket frames. i am only guessing what the organisation your side of the water would be called. good luck brian.

Re: marking memory sticks
O wow, what I did was get one of those speaking marking pens. What you do is stick a tiny round sticker onto the flash drive, hold the pen on it and record whatever needs to identify what is on the flash or ? You can put the size of the flash, space left and a list of files that can be then read later. I have at least 20 flash drives with all kinds of things on them and now I just take that reading pen and touch the round button sticker and it tells me exactly what I put onto the recording which is what is inside the drive. That was my work around method! MMM TickPub Thanks You, All The Best And More, Regards And Respect From Michael! Visit www.storynetadventures.com Get Your Free Travel Humor Book! Re: marking memory sticks
I think it is called the Pen Friend. Get hold of your local Commision for the blind and ask them, they might give you one free. The cost is about $150 I think? They are great for all kinds of little things. I use mine for a list of phone numbers. Instead of having to turn on my computer to look up a number, i just click the dot and the list that I recorded is read to me. I also list all my kids birthdays and special dates onto a tag, the tag goes onto the frig and when I want to remember a birdthday of someone I just let the pen read what I have recorded. I have also listed all my CD's and flash drives. You can put as much material onto a recording as you want. I played around with my wife and put a dot onto her forhead and made suggestions of her IQ and her love for me...? ...Ha! You can use it anywhere, on luggage or even in books for notes. On TV for remembering what station plays what or when? On Clothes, shoes, canned goods, stuff you put into freezer and more... Try cleaning the serfus, where you want your lable. If it is oilly at all, lable tape won't stick. That said, there are some serfuses that just won't take a Braille lable tape. If that is your situation, you could use Pen Friend. It uses sticky-backed paper dots that you use the Pen Friend to record your information. Best of luck.
