F7 key toggles mute on/off, F8 is volume down and F9 is volume up. You can tab 
to volume window of the player to see where the level is at: 70%, 75%, 80% etc.

Hi,

When WMP11 is opened, Jaws says, "video and visualization display area." How 
do I know if the mute button is on and how do I make sure it is off so I get 
the sound?

 I have a friend who has Jaws 7 and use Windows Media Player 10. 
 They
 are trying to play a DVD. can The play list can be reached by using
 control
 alt and l. How can one get the DVD to start the first chapter by
 using
 Jaws?

 I am not good with playing dvd's with out using power dvd.
 Please help!
