Re: Echoes in Skype

2005-02-01 Thread Tom Kaufman
Well..looks like..if anybody talks to me..they're gonna just have to live
with the echo as I've got one of those computers that doesn't have a
headphone jack! Frown!

Re: Echoes in Skype

It's just part of the program. I don't think you'll be
hacking in to it, lol. There's really nothing you can
do. If you're hearing echoes and they bother you, ask
the person you're talking to, nicely, to procure some
headphones. 8 times out of 10 it will not work, either
because they don't own a pair, they don't want to
unplug their speakers to hook up the headphones and
they don't have speakers like I do with a headphone
jack built in, or they just simply don't like wearing
headphones, but you can ask. With practice, you may
just get used to it. Maybe in some future release
they'll put in some controlable perameters for techies
to adjust on the fly to null out the echoes, but
probably not.

Re: Echoes in Skype

Make everyone you talk to buy headphones, lol! Those
echoes are coming from their speakers. Nothing you can
do. Skype has a smart algorithm to cancel out what
comes back through their speakers, but it often
doesn't work. In fact it could stop working in the
middle of a call, so you won't hear any echo, then
whoever it is moves their head the wrong way or
something and, vwah la! we have echo.
