Re: Newest version of Nero

2005-01-18 Thread Kevin Lloyd
I only upgraded my version of nero to accomodate my new DVD rewriter and
haven't used any other features that would have made it worth upgrading
otherwise.

I see what happened. When I went to the Ahead homepage, and used the link
to the store, the Ultra edition showed up, not Nero, itself. That's not
$39.

Re: Newest version of Nero

2004-11-12 Thread Curtis Delzer
I can use and am using NERO 6.0 OEM (the one once sold for $12) which
contains nero express and start smart, and can use express quite easily
with Window-Eyes. Nero 6.6, I probably will buy however, since the
interface is a little easier, though express is definitely useable though I
do get crashes with it sometimes.

As a matter of fact, Nero 6 does sertain things better with JAWS, such as
the CD burning Dialogue, it's not as annoying.

Re: Newest version of Nero

2004-11-12 Thread Kevin Lloyd
There's certainly some wisdom in the philosophy of upgrading only when you
have to but I must admit, after buying a new PC recently, I've upgraded
winamp, nero, notmad explorer, real player and windows media player and am
wishing I'd done so ages back.

With regards to nero though, I think Richard's spot on; if you don't need
any additional functionality and your burning CD's with no problem, I'd
stick with what you've got. I would also say though that in nero's case,
the interface has not changed between 5.5 and version 6.

Re: Newest version of Nero

2004-11-12 Thread Kevin Lloyd
Hi.

If you upgrade from nero 5.5 to 6.6 and choose the downloadable version
rather than have a CD shipped, the cost is $39.99 or £22 UK currency.

There is no significant difference in the interface and it is very
accessible with JAWS.

Re: Newest version of Nero

2004-11-11 Thread Josh N Rivera
Jim,
I don't think it's free. I seem to remember people saying they had to pay
for it. I'm sticking with 5.5 for now. I don't feel like having to learn
a new interface. How's the job going? Also did you get an answer from
Cathy Anne on your Excell question. I can't help you there, for I've
never learned that program.
Take care,
New Jersey Josh.

Re: Newest version of Nero

Hi Jim,
The answer to that one is NO!
Unless the latest version has more features that you really need
I wouldn't upgrade, because you can always be faced with accessibility
problems.
Just my opinion, I never upgrade, unless I'm forced into it for some reason.
