Designed specifically for that purpose, is Studio Recorder from the American
Printing house for the Blind. If you can afford the $200, or there abouts,
it will serve very well. I am amazed that more blind people in the
community are unaware of the existence of that program.

It's got features built into it that are most conducive to voice

Are you talking about studio recorder?
You might check the American Printing Hous's web address,
http://www.aph.org
Where you'll see a link on there among several called aph software. It's
in there.

For straight recording and editing, there's no need to spend $400 on
Sound
Forge when you can get Gold Wave for a tenth the price.

Re: Reading a book on to CD help

2004-11-23 Thread doc
You will need a program like Gold wave or sound forge to record your friend
reading. Make each recording 1 hour 17 minutes which is the size of an 74
minute CD. When all the recordings are done you can then burn your cd's.

Re: Reading a book on to CD help

2004-11-23 Thread RQJ
Hi Andrew,
I don't think you can record directly onto the CD,
however, using some type of recording software, and a microphone,
your friend could record the book into a long file, or in seperate files to
the hard drive.
Then the file, or files, could be burned to CD.
If you need more detailed imformation on how to do this,
please let us know.
Also let us know what version of windows, screen reader, and recording
software you will be using,
as this will help in the instruction process.
HTH,
