Re: Still Wanting To Know
When you have a playlist set up in the playlist editor. You need to highlight all files with control a. Keep in mind you must still be in the playlist editor in winamp. Now that all files in the playlist are highlight use the right mouse button numpad star. A menu will pop up and the first item should be play item(s) Go down until you find the send to item. In that subemnu there will be an autotagg option. Re: Still Wanting To Know
Robert, I want to make this the last entry on this issue, as I don't want to make the moderator tell me that it is not a PC Audio list subject! Anyway, I used to be able to accesss the media library,in Win Amp, , with JAWS. As you are probably aware, that has not been a possibility for quite awhile. Some would chime in, on the Win Amp list that I was not technically adept, enough, to deal with the scripting problems, that I and a lot of others encountered. I do know that I had learned how to use the SQR Disc Writer, not the Nullsoft Disc Writer; that plug in had a section for crossfading, from one track, in a play list, to another. A person burned one big wave file, doing this, but it would come out with tracks, as well! The only other place I am familiar with creating such a situation, does not involve the cross fading, for me, but, that is in CD Architect, where I can import regions, from Sound Forge 6.0, thus making live shows from a stream,, off of the internet a possibility, for my sighted friends, who have keypad driven CD players, in their cars! Some of these sighted people are picky, too! If I was more adept, with Sound forge, I would be able to figure out how to utilize the crossfading issue, as well, either in the original editing, that I would do, in Sound forge or in CD Architect, but, alas, I am in that niche, where I know a little but not a lot; the bane of the formerly sighted, I must admit! Re: Still Wanting To Know
Ok, now you know you're in the playlist editor. When you type control + n winamp creates a blank playlist. Now you have to load files or folders into this window. When you type shift + l winamp pulls up a folder box with a treeview of your computer. If you need to load files instead of an entire folder use l by itself. This will bring up a standard open box where you can browse to the files you need to add. Once this is done and your back in the playlist editor you can use up and down arrows to look at the items in the playlist. There are several things you can do with these files like move, delete, etc. All of this is in your jfw help for winamp. Anyway at this point u can press control + a to select the entire playlist. Then use your jaws right click and a context menu pops up. The first item in the menu says play item(s), go down until you here send to. Pull up that sumenu and you should have a few choices one of them being autotagger. Now for some reason Robert doesn't pull this up. This may be some kind of winamp lite versus standard, I'm not sure. Let me know your results. bb - Original Message - From: Tom Kaufman tomca...@comcast.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, November 09, 2009 11:46 AM Subject: Re: Still Wanting To Know Okay..I have established that I can get to the playlist editor..but still am not doing something right! Re: Still Wanting To Know
I believe that if you select several files or all files in a folder and use the aplication key to pull up the windows context menu. Winamp should have a shortcut in that menu that says encue in winamp. If it does then select this. Your winamp should open up with all your files. In winamp, if you use control plus tab it will switch you from the main window to a playlist window and even the equalizer. If control tab does nothing then type alt + e and you should hear screen reader saying winamp playlist editor Once you are there you can do everything like I mentioned in the last message. Remember that you can always get back to the main window by using control plus tab to cycle around. hth bb - Original Message - From: Tom Kaufman tomca...@comcast.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Saturday, November 07, 2009 11:31 PM Subject: Re: Still Wanting To Know Hello Brett and list: Forgive me for really showing my ignorance here..but I've never created a playlist in Winamp! Re: Still Wanting To Know
Ok. When you are in winamp and you press control tab, if the playlist window is open jaws will say playlist editor. If it says something else like equalizer just keep hitting control tab until jaws says winamp 5 point whatever. This means you are back in the main window of winamp. So if jaws said nothing then we need to make sure the playlist window is open so we can move back and forth between the main window and the playlist editor. Alt plus e, while in winamp will select and close the playlist editor. This is different than control tab which moves us between the two parts of winamp. Ok once you can confirm you've got the playlist window up. Lets make a new playlist. If you type control plus n while in the playlist editor winamp will start a new blank playlist. Now to add a folder use shift plus l or to add a file use letter l by itself. To check if your files are being loaded in to the blank playlist use your up and down arrow keys once you have some files added. See if you can make a playlist first. Then we'll move on. bb To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Gentlemen, Not to butt in, but I was not aware that one could create playlists, outside of the Media Library! I just followed your steps, Brett; now what -- in other words, how does one save the playlist? I had been under the impression that one needed the Media Library, to make all of this happen, but, I am quickly becoming aware that one does not and that since JAWS does not work very well, with the aforementioned Media Library, I guess, perhaps I can create playlists, to burn to disc, in some other client, without the problems, that come up, without the script improvements, that never happened? Like I said, not to butt in and get you off track, Tom, but I am interested, as well! I believe the easiest way is to put the files in to a new playlist, highlight all songs in the playlist, and I believe you can then do a right click and there should be a send-to submenu then under that will be autotagger. The method i use is this. When in winamp, bring up the playlist window, control n for new playlist, load files, go to to the top of the list with home, highlight everything with control shift end, then a right mouseclick with numpad asterisk. That's the way I do it and there is probably a few other ways as well.
