Hi,
Two things, if I may.
1) Why do you want spend money for older technology such as Zoom H2?
2) If you care about functionality, why not to go for Zoom H4N, then.
Best,

Personally I didn't particularly like mine because I found that there was

are

quite squishy, and unlike the H1, the record button flicks you between
record and record standby, so there's no way to be sure which mode it's
in.
Also the external mic preamps in the H2 are quite noisy. The battery
life

is also considerably less than the H1, about 4 hours for two AA cell
batteries. Having said all of that, the internal mics are very nice, and
if
you have a little bit of sight, or even a bit of light perception, you
may

not have the same issues with the H2 as I did.

RE: Zoom H2 Accessibility

2008-03-27 Thread Rick Alfaro
John,

Go to www.blindcooltech.com and search that page for zoom h2. You will find
some excellent podcasts on that recorder that were done by Neal Euers who is
an audio engineer and is blind himself. Accessibility is sometimes in the
eyes of the beholder, but after listening to Neal's podcasts, you can draw
your own conclusion and also get a very good idea of what the recorder
sounds like with different microphones.

Also keep in mind that the DS50 and the Zoom H2 really serve 2 different
purposes. The DS50 is a very accessible and small pocket recorder really
meant for taking notes or doing dictation. The Zoom H2 is really for doing
some serious recording, where sound quality is your top priority. I have
both a DS50 and an Edirol R09 and use them for totally different things, so
to me, comparing them is like apples and oranges.

Warmest regards,

Rick Alfaro

Hardly any at all, listen to the excellent review Neil has done at
http://www.blindcooltech.com, puts the H2 and H4 through their paces,
its a fairly long review but its well worth the listen.

Thanks again to some private email I received pointing me to that
wonderful site http://www.blindcooltech.com where one can find an
excellent review and comparison of these 2 excellent recorders, I'm
 utterly impressed.
