Hello Dane Ok, thanks for that one. Just as a matter of interest: have you ever tried to streem to the Express from another portable device which is not Apple related but which can connect to wifi? I thought that it is the airplay function which causes the streaming and which keeps voiceOver voice on the iDevice. Hi! Deppends on your preference. I have an eirport express and i think its lossless audio streaming. Or maybe dlna but dane might know this things better. Also, do you know whether the 3.5 mm jack is a high impedence output as for connection to stereo systems or a low impedence output as for use with headphones? the output jack of the Airport Express is a line-out jack, the jack is a 3.5MM jack which can either be used for analogue or digital line-out. If the remote speakers app works with Foobar, you can add airplay to it with that.
