Re: programs for what I want to do
That's why I'm glad we have a variety of programs out there. I personally got nowhere with nero, and finally gave up on it, but obviously for you it's worked out extremely well, not to mention a bunch of other people. It sounds like I don't really want to try that one. They really shouldn't say that their program is accessible if it isn't. - Original Message - From: "Yardbird" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. I recently had a pretty unsatisfying experience exploring the program on a trial basis. Strange things went wrong, for instance, when I wasn't able to figure out how to move files from one list to another for burning a CD (the application's not as accessible or intuitive/self-explanatory as it seems to think it is) and activated the Burn button prematurely, it crashed the program every time, making it that much harder to learn by trying. And in the .mp3 ripping area, the demo version somehow got hold of a CD that I don't even own and, no matter what I put into my CD drive to rip from, displayed only the tracks from that other, phantom CD. And even ripped them to disk! I wrote to the company by email about these two problems (I'm sure not about to call them by the euphemism "issues," because they shouldn't even have been on the proverbial table at all, in the first place), I received no explanation or advice, even though a lone executive honcho wrote back once and told me that the engineers must have lost my message, and recommended I write again, but still I never heard a thing from them. On top of it, the interface was overlabeled in a silly, clunky way, lacked the hotkey commands you'd think an accessibility group would strive to supply, and, just as Bruce says, wasn't nearly as screen reader or user friendly as it's made out to be. I was pretty disappointed by my experience. Also, in terms of comparative functionality, the thing can't copy a CD (I'm pretty sure, anyway) and doesn't make data CDs for any purpose, including backup.
