RE: Re[2]: Fw: Does anyone know of an aftermarket tutorial, for Total Recorder?
It's not a tutorial that you buy. In fact, it's free which definitdely pushes my buttons. You can listen to it on Acbradio at www.acbradio.org. Look in the on demand section for the show called Main Menu. Then down-arrow through the shows until you come to the show you want and click on the link. Subject: Re: Re[2]: Fw: Does anyone know of an aftermarket tutorial, for Total Recorder? DJC, I find the instructions for using Total Recorder a little difficult to understand. I admit that I am a novice, at using it, but, I have had some experience with it. Since you have not looked at their on line help, all I can say is that it skips around and does not get to the point, which is to tell someone how to use the program to record streams, off the net, to record records, from a turntable to the hard drive, to record cassettes to the hard drive, etc.. I am in the process of reading the full blown tutorial and, when I digest that, maybe I will have a better idea of what is going on. I have been blind for only about 4 years, so I am a little frustrated by some of the ways in which these instructions are written, because they don't often get to the point, nor do they set things out in an order that helps me to visualize what is going on. Perhaps you have been using Total Recorder for awhile, but I have not. I am not, by any means, whining here; just looking for a way to get to the nuts and bolts of the program, which, if you listen to the on line help, or the tutorial help, is not gotten to, for quite a ways into it. I am not trying to say that the Main Menu description is not good, either, but it is not very good. Patience being the virtue that it is, leads me to believe that someone out here has the answer; is it you? Re: Re[2]: Fw: Does anyone know of an aftermarket tutorial, for Total Recorder?
Dear Jerry, The Main Menu program you mention is the one that I was saying was not too good, because the person who did it, frankly, stumbled around, a lot, which made it so that I could not follow what he was trying to tell me. I just might give it another try, now that I have had some experience with Total Recorder., but, it was just not too terrific. That is why I was seeking another avenue, so that I don't have to go through all of the superfluous material, that accompanies the tutorial. I also may contact High Criteria Tech. Support, to try to get a synopsis, that I can more readily use. For now, let's drop this thread, because it is going nowhere and I don't want to offend anyone, OK?
