USB Sound Card question
My new computer includes a 5.1 surround sound chip. It offers 1 plugg each for mike, speakers and line in. The store that sold it to me claims that I cannot do better with - a USB sound card, or an autigy 2ZS which offers jacks on both the front and back. This is a great computer in all other respects, but it's my feeling that I can do better than a 5.1 chip without breaking the bank. Does anyone have an opinion on the subject. By the way, most of my recording is line in, and it would certainly help to have more than 1 line in jack along with convenient access. I'm using bothe Window Eyes 5.5 and Jaws 7.0. I don't know those zittle devices but if they connect to a laptop's soundcard then I really wouldn't be interested. I have yet to find a laptop with a high quality soundcard. The advantage of the USB connection is that you bypass that nasty bit of cheap electronics. Regards. USB Sound Card question
How does one hear what is coming through a USB soundcard?
