Re: How Do You Manage Playlist in VLC?
I'm using VLC media player Version 2,2,5,1 . I see no reference to "Random" under the Playback menu? And I would like to be able to move tracks up and down in the playlist according to what order I wish to hear them played in. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but none of the buttons as I'm using the [Tab] key to navigate the main Window have text labels associated with them? Do I need to alter some settings? A very easy way to shuffle tracks, r is for random and you’ll see random in the playback menu, in fact you’ll find a lot if you have a look through the menu system. How Do You Manage Playlist in VLC?
Hello, I'm liking the speed in which the VLC Media Player plays audio files. Doesn't seem to be an easy way to manage a Playlist though. Also doesn't seem to be an easy way to tell the program to "Shuffle" tracks during playback. Can someone hear tell me is this program accessible enough to perform simple playlist tasks using JAWS? Most of the buttons are not it seems.

Re: vlc equaliser with nvda, how?
Did you ever get an answer to this question? The equaliser is accessible through tools, effects and filters. menu. Unfortunately it's not really as friendly as for example winamp's native equalizer and there are no keys that I can see to directly adjust the bands. You need to tab between them and operate them as you would any other set of slider controls. And I don't know where your cursor will start, so it's really a matter of trial and error. I just recently started to play with this (I only use VLC for videos, normally, as it's by far the best video player out there, but winamp suits all my audio playback needs) and so it's possible someone has a better idea of how this works with a screenreader. - Original Message - From: "Robert Godridge" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Thursday, February 23, 2017 12:53 AM Subject: vlc equaliser with nvda, how? VLC Still Refusing To Play DVD
Hello again List: Hate to keep bothering you guys with this, but have still not found a solution for my DVD problem! VLC just won't play it; I've been into preferences (or what I believe to be "preferences) but nothing there even makes sense to me! I don't claim to be the most computer-sabbie person, so it is quite possible that I am just missing something! I have tried to play this DVD with Windows Media to no avail (it'll play a little bit of it; then stop) I really do want to see this DVD since the group I work in is in it (it's a show that the band was involved with) but so far, just am having no luck! Surely there is some smart person on this list that can tell me what I need to do in order to make my machine access this DVD! This particular medium (this list) is the only place where I know to go to get help, so if no one can help me here, then I'm SOL, I guess! Tom Kaufman
Help with VLC
Plenty to be found, Google will bring up a whole heap of stuff. VLC is a comprehensive player with new features and functions being added all the time so its probably best you look through a search engine unless you have any specific questions, we'd be here till well after Christmas explaining the ins and outs of VLC. Firstly you have to make sure the playlist is in view and then you can up/down using arrow keys through it, press enter to hear the song you've selected. Alternatively if you just want to go back and forth through a playlist in order you can use p and n keys - previous and next - to move, r turns on "Random" mode. Nothing like accidentally making a discovery , lost count of how many times I've done that so we'll have to accidentally discover some other features. I have a Logitech Gaming mouse here where the wheel not only rolls but can be moved from side-to-side ever so slightly - game controlling - so one wonders what might happen if I have VLC in focus and move the wheel from side-to-side? I tried nvda, but it was not much better. So, how, in nvda would you look at the time elapsed and how would you use the dialog where you can jump to a specific time? Good summary. I should also add that one of those open commands is possibly one of the most powerful commands in VLC as it allows the user to open pretty much anything, an audio CD, files on a computer, on a network drive or even an Internet Radio stream. > On 25 Dec 2015, at 1:12 PM, Robert Nelson wrote: > > > VLC Media Player Shortcuts > > > 1. Re: VLC media player shortcut keys
A couple of other things Windows muses might like to bare in mind with VLC which make life one hell of a lot easier when you’re dealing with a whole heap of files. Have a folder of a few hundred files you want to add to a playlist? go into File Explorer, select the files you want and then select “Add To VLC Playlist” from the context menu. VLC will start playing the selected files after a few moments. From here you can obviously “Save As Playlist” if you like so the playlist will be available for you next time you wish to hear it. > On 25 Dec 2015, at 10:24 PM, Brian Olesen wrote: > > Hi > Yeah n next element in playlist aand p previous element. > All other shortcut keys are fine. > > Brian > Brian > > -Oprindelig meddelelse- > Fra: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] På vegne af Robert Nelson > Sendt: 25. december 2015 03:12 > Til: 'PC Audio Discussion List' > Emne: VLC media player shortcut keys > > > VLC Media Player Shortcuts > > > 1. Hello Robert and list: This is probably as about as good as it gets where VLC is concerned; good job of laying it out there! The only thing I can't - at this time - play on VLC for Windows are those files etc on my DLNA/UpNP devices but that's not because VLC for Windows doesn't have the facilities to play them, I just haven't been able to access the appropriate part with my Screen Reader yet, I'm sure that if VLC for the Mac can do it then VLC for Windows certainly can. I'm sure I'm looking in the right place with VLC for Windows, under open Network and the select protocol combo box, now if I can get WE to read that then I'll be in business, I'll have another play tomorrow. I tested VLC with DVD'S, its best to open the DVD from the Open Disc option from the media menu, from there you'll see a skip menu option which bypasses the welcom menu etc, you can also select what you wish to play from here. You can also use the menus, like video, audio and all that to move around. I didn't try it with DVD'S actually and I don't play DVD'S on my computer but I can't see why it wouldn't work once you get past the "Welcom" menu thing on a DVD, if you're running JAWS then perhaps the Convenient OCR function may help you there. Re: VLC
No, I don't think the setting is memorised, I have that same thing happen here, I just go and change it again where appropriate. In my situation I might prefer VLC play through my default computer speakers, I don't want this however if I'm watching a recorded TV show, I then switch VLC to play through my Denon AVR2113. .
