Windows Media Player and Winamp
Hi listers. I've just got a new Windows XP Home laptop and am trying to get an accessible copy of Windows Media Player, but I don't seem to be able to get anything below Version 9. I've been advised that I won't be able to use this because you can't tab round to options like Rip, Burn and Library once you've started playing a file. Can anybody please tell me where I can either get an earlier copy of WMP (all of the ones which I've tried to download seem to automatically update to Version 11) or point me towards instructions for using Version 9 with JFW 10.0? If neither of these is possible or suitable, I'd also be grateful for advice on finding tutorials (and scripts if necessary) for using versions of Winamp - also with JFW 10.0. Many thanks in advance, Danny To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Go to the file you want to open. Go to the context menu either by pressing the right mouse button or pressing the applications key. Select the open with submenu. Go to the choose program option. Make sure the checkbox that says always use the selected program to open this kind of file is checked. Once you've found Windows Media Player in the programs list, press the OK button.
