Power DVD is frinendly enough with DVDs. Especially the older versions of it. The younglings on the other hand, not so much. But you have the easiest one to use right now and don't even realize it. You hav 2 very good options already. WMP, AKA Windows Media Player and WMC AKA Windows Media Center. Now of the 2, I'd use WMP more. One thing to note, you'll have to use Narrator since it'll see the Mirror driver as a second display, think you are a pirate that just wants to coppy it, and won't bring it up. It works very well though. I like the program, but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't play the Blue Ray format. From what I read, this format is the most likely to have a Descriptive Video track included. What program are you talking about? If power dvd, yeah it does. I think starting from virsion 8 it could. One warning though, the new virsions of Power DVD aren't as accessible as the old ones. If VLC, I don't know. I'm talking about Media Player Classic Home Cinema. It doesn't play the Blue Ray format as far as I can tell. I had to use an OEM version of Power DVD that came with my computer to play Avatar in that format. The descriptive Video was available only in the Blue Ray format, and I wouldn't have gained much from the movie without description. Has anyone noticed that even with the FCC mandate, the TV shows that need it the most, the action shows, don't have descriptive video. "Last Resort" and "Revolution" are 2 examples of shows that really needed descriptive video. The only way to find out the details of what happened in these shows if you were watching them alone was to read the recaps.
