Re: cannot open files made with MP3 direct cut

2006-04-10 Thread Bobcat
Reopen the file with Mp3 Direct cut and save the splits. I don't have the
program right now so I can't remember which file option to use to save the
splits as mp3 files. Please look over the menu and check each option.

I think the mpd file is a kind of index that the program uses.

Subject: cannot open files made with MP3 direct cut

For anyone using MP3 direct cut, I normally have no trouble splitting
 files
and finding the list of splits the program made. But I am now running
 into
a problem with the program having supposedly split a large file for me and
 I
see the MPD formatted folder where the split files should be; but when I
 try
opening this MPD folder it says Windows can't open it and wants to know
 what
program to use. I tried going to the Web to see if I could get info on
 the
program they suggest, but it seems to take me to a Microsoft page where
 you
have to buy tools or updates, etc. All I want to be able to do is open
 this
MPD file as usual and find the splits that are inside it, but I don't know
how to do this or with what program. Thanks for any help.

That doesn't sound like an mp3directcut file. When you split an mp3 in
mp3directcut, all the splits will be .mp3's.
Do your splits again and pay close attention to where mp3directcut puts your
files.
