converting files with cdex
Someone has told me I can convert files on my computer by using cdex. Is this true? Subject: converting files Hi folks: Some time ago, I put a number of songs on disk from my computer. They were mp 3 files. Unfortunately, the computer I now have will not play them. Is there any way I can convert the files so my new computer can play them. I am using windows xp. I am sorry I can't be more explicit. I will download cd creator and see if this does it. - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. Did you use Direct CD to save these MP3 files to CD? I could be wrong, but I believe, if you did, you will need direct CD on your new computer in order to access these files. That is the only reason I could think of why you could not access these files. Hope this helps, Chris Chaffin I am sorry that I can't quite explain what my problem is. Let me try again. I have no difficulty playing MP3 files. I am using Windows media player 10. I copied these files to a computer from disk using MP3 format. Then I created disks. I bought a new computer and cannot play the cads. I used cod creator to copy the files to disk. The problem I am having is that I can't play these disks on my new computer. I have considerable time in these disks and would very much like to keep these files. Sorry I rambled on for so long. However, I don't know how to explain my problem so that it is understand Frankly. - Original Message - From: Aman Singer [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'PC audio discussion list. If Windows XP doesn't play MP3 files, there must be something wrong with the files themselves, and conversion will, most probably, not help you. What happens when you try to play the files? Have you tried copying the files to the hard drive and playing them from there? What program is being used to play the files? Frank. Does your new computer see the mp3 files on the CD when you use Windows Explorer or My Computer? - Original Message - From: Frank Deweese Some time ago, I put a number of songs on disk from my computer. Re: converting files
Frank. Are those disks CDRW? You may need a disk converter depending on which program you used to make the original disks. I've never heard of Cod Creator.
