RE: is there any player which can help to jump any specific place ina long audio or will start from the last point aftershutting down and and when restarting again?

2009-10-07 Thread dean martineau
The manual for the Daisy Book Generator explains the process. Basically,
you put all the mp3 files you want to constitute the Daisy book onto a
folder. Highlight that folder in Windows Explorer and use the context menu
which, once you install Daisy Book Generator, will include the option to
create a Daisy book, as well as other options offered by the program.

Hello. A very good player for this is Winamp, especially if you use any
fairly recent version of JAWS or Window-Eyes version 7 or later. For
instance, with these screen readers running and using Winamp, before you
shut down the computer, set a time marker. Now you can return to that
same
position very easily. Even if you don't do that, you can easily jump to
any

time position in the file. You can also easily turn the book into a DAISY
book with a free tool, then use a DAISY reader on the computer; I can
research the links for you to do that if you want.

2009-10-07 Thread dean martineau
Here is the link for the DAISY Book Generator, a free program which lets you
take a folder of one or more mp3 files and create a daisy book:

http://jaapvanlelieveld.xs4all.nl/daisy.htm

AMIS is a free DAISY book reader:

http://www.daisy.org/projects/amis/

Also, if you can access JAWS version 11, you have access to FS Reader which
is free for users of that screen reader.

The keystrokes for setting Winamp place markers is I believe dependent on
your screen reader. If using JAWS, read the help that comes with the
scripts. I don't do this often, but I believe the keystroke to set a marker
is alt+ctrl+m.
