loading a soundfont into soundblaster x-fi extreme music

2008-06-13 Thread Missy Hoppe
Hello, all. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck using the soundfont
bank manager with the creative x-fi sound cards. I have a really great
sound font that I'd like to use, but can't seem to find a way to load it
independently. I had it loaded when my computer first got built, but
Creative recently released a firmware update for my sound card, so the
sound fond I'd like to use is no longer loaded. I can just have someone
sighted load it for me next time there's an opportunity and I actually
remember to ask, but in the mean time, if anyone has any suggestions on how
I can do this myself, I would really appreciate hearing from them. Thank
you all very much for your time, and I hope that you're having a really
great day!
Missy

I sure wish we could get jaws script files for the Creative Sound Font
manager. Problem is, Creative. They keep changing the dang interface,
making it harder and harder to use with ascreen reader.

It would be great to get scripts for anything soundblaster! Especially
their speaker calibrator.

Re: loading a soundfont into soundblaster x-fi extreme music

2008-06-15 Thread Missy Hoppe
Hi! I'm glad I'm not the only one that had that opinion. It used to be
accessible with the audigy card. Then, when I got the x-fi, it was pretty
inaccessible, but somehow, even though I ended up having sighted assistance
in actually loading a font, I was at least able to play around with it a
little. Now, with this newest firmware update, it seems like the made it
even less accessible somehow, although that could be my imagination. I just
don't see what was wrong with the old audigy soundfont manager; they could
have stuck with that interface, and everyone would have been happy. Ah
well. thanks for the response, and I hope that you're having a great day!

Re: loading a soundfont into soundblaster x-fi extreme music

2008-06-15 Thread Missy Hoppe
Hi! Soundfonts are used to make midi files sound better with more realistic
instruments. A good place to start would be http://www.personalcopy.net. I
assume it's still active. A friend and I created a sound font called Dream
font, but it's 75 MB, so I couldn't exactly mail it to you.
