what is the most blind friendly portable mp3 player?

2005-02-01 Thread Joe
Hi, what do you think is the most blind friendly and best portable mp3
player. I saw something the other day about the Muvo from creative labs.
That looks pretty good. Do you think that would b the best for a totally
blind person? or is there something even better. Thanks, Joe.

The Muvo looks good, but I like the Archos 20 GB recorders and players. You
can load an alternative firmwear called rockbox. It will read the menus and
names of the dirrectories. The IRiver H 120 and 140 players are good too and
they're working on Rockbox for these players. If you want the Archos, you'll
have to find them on Ebay or Amazon.

Joe,
I have the Archos Gmini 120 player. It has a 20 giga byte hard drive
and is easy to use. I have the free Rock Box speech software installed
on it which you can get from www.rockbox.org. I bought the Archos from
Harmony Computers for $186.00, which is a good price. You can call
Harmony at 800-441-1144 or go to www.ShopHarmony.com. The direct link
to the Archos Gmini 120 is

Good Luck,

Joe,

I have tried several MP3 players and find the Muvo to be the best so far.
The reason is that you don't have complicated software. Once you install
the drivers on your computer, you can just transfer the MP3's from anywhere
on the computer into the player by cutting and pasting.

The only problem I found with Muvo is, if you get the NX or TX models, the
menus are tricky, but that'll be true for any MP3 player.

Hello, is the GMini a player which uses double A batteries or its own
internal rechargibles?
Thanks a lot.

July:
With the Archos and IRivers, you just copy and paste the files, no extra
software. With the Archos, the menus and files and directories can speak
with the right software.
