Copy the URL from a YOutube page and go to Freemake Video converter. go to the edit menu and enter on paste Then go to the convert menu and choose which format you want it saved as and hit enter. A dialog will come up. Tab to edit preset and hit enter and go through the dialog to choose the quality of the file. Tab to OK and hit enter. Tab to ... and enter to choose where to save your file. Tab to the convert button and hit enter and the file will start recording. Sometimes you will get an information window or warning window but with jaws whatever is in the window is not accessible. Just tab to OK and go back to the convert menu. If it is not there then Youtube is blocking you from saving it. If you choose one of the video formats it will save autio and video. so you could do .avi or mp4 I guess. I use a web service called vid2mp3. It is a web-based conversion service. paste a URL into a form and press enter. Within a few minutes, presto, they have an MP3 file ready for downloading. It is the complete audio of your video from Youtube, Vimeo, and about a dozen other video sites. You can find them at: http://www.vidtomp3.com/index.php Enjoy. I have recently used: http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ You paste the link into the edit box and on the screen you wil read that it is processing the file but this happens quickly. Then it gives you a button to download the file. I have used programs to save the files but find this a lot faster. You can't control the quality of the file, though. The ones I have done turn out around 128 which isn't too bad. The audio on YouTube isn't usually that great anyway so saving at a higher bit rate usually doesn't help much. I am not aware of picking up any viruses or malware from using either of these sites, but certainly one should always be suspicious. One should also be suspicious of any programs you download from sites you don't know as well, though. I tend to feel more comfortable with web sites that I know have been around for a while than I am downloading programs to do conversions that are not as well known. All of the programs suggested here might very well be completely all right, and I no nothing to contradict that. My point is only that downloading a program is not necessarily safer than using a web site. Always keep your guard up, your virus definitions up-to-date, and even scan the resulting MP3's with your virus checker until you gain confidence in whatever system you use. Obviously, if anyone knows of any problems with either of these sites, I would very much like to know about it.
