Re: [pca] patch downloads broken
We purchased the extended support for Solaris 10 through a VAR that has handled support for us (OS and compliers) for a single old machine we have running a custom app on SPARC about a month ago (app and required hardware driver won’t work on 11). We requested a price in late March and did the purchase in early April. Earlier this week, pca downloaded the 12 patches (kernel, tomcat, apache, and so on) that were previously denied when pca was able to download the Java updates so apparently the support upgrade went through. So for me, pca was able to list various recent patches for Solaris 10 SPARC since 10 went into Extended support earlier this year and now pca can actually download appropriate new updated patches using my login/password at Oracle. Hi Martin, So how will it work; will the patchdiag fetched by non-Extended Support Customers continue to list patches issued during Extended Support giving visibility of them but without not entitlement to get without having triggered the Extended Support uplift escalator? Doing a pca -l missingrs there's nothing aged under 100 days; just the usual historic list of native zone h/w patches that shouldn't be installed in a S10 zone on S11. From just a quick eyeball, I didn't notice anything recent other than Studio 12.3 & 12.4 patches. I spoke to sales yesterday. They're clearly under instruction to push cloud whether they privately believe it's right for Oracle in a way that it wasn't right for Cisco, or otherwise. Michael.

Re: [pca] patch downloads broken
Just for Info on extended Support price etc: extended Support When Extended Support is made available after the end of Premier Support period, customers will need to purchase Extended Support if they wish to access any new fixes/patches/security updates created during the Extended Support period. Extended Support is not required to access pre-existing fixes/patches/security updates that were created during the Premier Support period. Pre-existing patches/updates will remain accessible on MOS to customers with a valid Premier Support for Systems or OS base contract. Extended support is optional and available under the following pricing model: Year 1 of Extended Support: 10% additional uplift to Premier Support for Systems or OS base contract Year 2 of Extended Support: 20% additional uplift to Premier Support for Systems or OS base contract Year 3 of Extended Support: 20% additional uplift to Premier Support for Systems or OS base contract Customers are not required to purchase Extended Support until they require access to a newly released patch/update. Customers who keep their Support Agreement current can purchase Extended Support at any time during the Extended Support period. (The uplift is not retroactive to the beginning of the Extended Support period as long as the Support Agreement is current.) Hi, I just checked e.g. 149176-13 that works. I think maybe the users tried to download new patches released after Jannuar for which you need extended support. Since Solaris 10 is now extended support: https://blogs.oracle.com/solaris/oracle-solaris-10-support-explained Am 03.05.18 um 09:35 schrieb Martin Paul: > Dear PCA users, > > I've had two independent reports about patch downloads failing with > "ERROR 403: Forbidden" since last week. [pca] patch downloads broken
Dear PCA users, I've had two independent reports about patch downloads failing with "ERROR 403: Forbidden" since last week. It seems as if Oracle has changed or broken something in their hands-off patch download service. The only thing I can do is to contact Don O'Malley from Oracle, who has helped with such issues in the past. He's out of of office until May 14th, though, so don't expect any quick solution soon. Martin.
