I can download all reasonable patches except for that one.

Then, 90 minutes later, I could.

Well, here is a challenge, how about this baby :

120744-02 SunOS 5.10: web console locale patch (de/es/fr/ja/ko/zh)

If one installs multiple locales, which I do, then this patch is required.
Strangely .. I can not get it despite it being installed from the regular
install media.

Were you able to download it from the MOS site after searching? It shows up on
my search as well but when I select the patch is says I am without privilege...
The patch is classified as a JES patch and not a Solaris patch. It's probably
going to take opening a case with the Big-O to get it resolved...

Exactly. Yes. Both of those.

However only minutes ago I logged into MOS and can see everything
again. For weeks I saw some stuff about support ids and such and
was able to download only basic patches however now I am back to

Looks like the new MOS has a few kinks yet.

Dennis,

Yesterday I had trouble downloading java patches - different
patches failed on different machines. Running pca a second
and/or third time got them all. Something must have been amiss
at Oracle (or wherever the patch servers are) ...

I did not have trouble with the fcp/fcip patch (or the kernel patch
or scsi or ) but sure did with java.

Re: [pca] anyone seen patch 145957-09 ? SunOS 5.10: fcp and fcip Patch

2012-02-16 Thread Don O'Malley

Hi Dennis,

I've taken a quick look at patch 120744-02.

It's an interesting case.

It's currently not classified as a Solaris patch, but rather as a
JavaES patch. JavaES patches require SW/Software patch entitlement,
which is obtained via a Premier Support for Software support contract.
explains how patch entitlement works).
This probably explains why you cannot download this patch.

So, onto the more interesting question - should you be able to
download this patch.
The answer here is yes.

Patch 120744-02 patches a set of pkgs that were delivered in Solaris
10 up to and including Solaris 10 Update 3.
Thereafter the pkgs that 120744-02 delivers got updated in the
Solaris image.

eg.:
SUNWcmcon:
SUNWcmcon in 120744-02: VERSION=2.2,REV=2004.09.23.12.44.08
SUNWcmcon in Solaris:
/export/images/SPARC/solaris_10/Solaris_10/Product/SUNWcmcon/pkginfo:VERSION=2.2,REV=2004.09.23.12.44.08

Bottom line is that patch 120744-02 should have OS/Operating System
patch entitlement.

I'll follow up internally to make this happen, but it will take at
least 48 hours to sort out.

Sorry for the inconvenience (I know these things take time to debug)
and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Best,
-Don

Don, you are the best ! I love the fact that this mail list is more
effective for working out these little issues than nearly any other
interface. Gotta love pca.

So when is Oracle simple going to toss out a billion to buy the pca
tool and pay off everyone on this mail list ? :-)

Jonathan was certainly better than Larry, but I really miss Scott.

Scott and the original first 100 employees built a company from the
ground up. We must keep in mind however that money was flowing like
water and the tech world was booming. Regardless, most ideas never
get off the ground and Sun was an amazing success because of the
brilliant products, people and management.
