Re: [PD] Live phase modulation (Charles Henry)
Go for the ssb example (H09) it uses the hilbert transform to do a complex modulation. It's a frequency shifter (not a pitch shifter) but it works for this kind of modulation. You may also use some other pitch shifter as well for that. Cheers ___ Pd-list@iem.at mailing list UNSUBSCRIBE and account-management -> http://lists.puredata.info/listinfo/pd-list

If there was a piano that sounded and played like a Steinway 9-foot grand but was 1/5 the price, would you really take a Steinway salesman seriously if he countered that the highest octave sounds slightly different when you put your ear directly above the strings?[1] Curious about [readanysf~] and gmerlin-- I thought you had to pay royalties to do mp3 encoding/decoding. Am I wrong on that? Hans-- if [readanysf~] could compile on Windows would it be possible to include it in Pd-Extended? Or are there patent issues that keep it from being included? (If so, how does gmerlin get around them?) -Jonathan [1] Analogy is good for any use of Pd that merely plays back a soundfile and/or attenuates the signal, for which there are many, especially for newcomers (random shuffle, alarm clock, build your own Furby with Raspberry Pi, etc.) ___ Pd-list@iem.at mailing list UNSUBSCRIBE and account-management -> http://lists.puredata.info/listinfo/pd-list
Re: [PD] Live phase modulation
It's a good start, I'd guess. You'll get discontinuities on the block boundaries. You probably want to insert that part of your patch into a overlapping block scheme with windowing, to reduce clicks/noise. However, I bet there's a simpler solution that works almost as well with an all-pass filter (or the hilbert~ abstraction) and a mixer. Re: [PD] data structures in abstractions
Hi, I don't have much time to look at patches now. You can see my abstractions [jmmmp/bezier], [jmmmp/swatch], to see if there's something you find interesting for your problem. They should be in pd-extended. Best, João Thanks Jonathan You are a magician. You said it works, so now it does no bugs. The only thing I can't get rid of is the datawindow name appearing in the graph on parent. No matter how many times I turn it off, once I save it and load it again, it comes back on. The name of the main graph on parent does not show, only of the subpatch I attached the abstraction here Cheers Eldad ___ Pd-list@iem.at mailing list UNSUBSCRIBE and account-management -> http://lists.puredata.info/listinfo/pd-list
