Anyway, It doesn't have the option of removing the frame of the pdp windows.

I have found Devilspie.

As you can read Devilspie lets you give presets for the size and the position 
of windows, take the frame of the window off, etc...

Devilspie works ok with 1 pdp render window, but my intention is giving 3 
different positions to 3 pdp render windows. This last not possible because all 
the pdp render windows are always named pdp.

Don't would be great modifying pdp/pidip to named the pdp render windows as 
pdp 1, pdp 2, etc, in order to Devilspie recognizes them separately?

[PD] Connecting the UC-33 and pd

Hi,

when I want to control my pd patches with my UC-33 midi controller, i must do 
these steps:

Open pd
Media  ALSA MIDI
Open ALSA Sequencer
Connect UC33 with pd

Are four steps, not too much... but, Im wondering if there is any to reduce 
them. You know, I would like to open pd and have the UC-33 and pd connected 
without going to MediaALSA midi and then going to the ALSA Sequencer.

Im using a core duo 2 2,16 GHz and UbuntuStudio 7.04.

Im
not worried about that high cpu usage, because with the values i said
(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8) the movie is played veryveryvery fast, so maybe
is something normal... 

What surprise me, is that the increase of the cpu usage is exponential (or 
similar) around those values.

[PD] A limited in range numeric box and [ctlin]

when i connect a [ctlin] box to a numeric box limited between two numbers 
between 0 and 127 (30 an 84 for example) the limit doesnt work, I mean, the 
numbers go from 0 to 127 without considering the limits.

[PD] UC-33 and Pd

Hi,

I have an UC-33 evolution midi controller. 

When i turn it on, Alsa Sequencer shows it. In the same way when i go to pd, 
and choose MediaAlsa midi, Alsa Sequencer shows this:

Pure Data Midi-in 1

Then i go to MediaTest audio and midi, and i press the assignable buttons, or 
move the knobs, and nothing seems happen.

Any idea?

Well, I have read something about multitexturing and GLSL, and I have add a 
concept to GEM in my mind:

GEM is 3D engine oriented to visual artists. and as other 3d engines (games, 
etc), it should incorporate features to create more realistic spaces for 
example.

Is that true?

[PD] My project at IEM

Hi,

in order to finish my Telecomunications Engineering, during the summer semester 
I will go to IEM (Graz, Austria) to develop my Trabajo fin de carrera (we can 
translate it as Final work of career), that is a little project that will 
take me 6 months working 8 hours per day, 6 days per week (including the wrote 
part, you know, a wad of papers :) )

My intention was to create an object for GEM that would insert a 3D animation. 
But i have seen this email:

 This is my first post to the list so I'll do a quick intro and backround. My 
 name's Donal Carey and I'm currently studying for a Masters in Multimedia 
 Systems in Trinity College Dublin (Ireland).
 
 I'm starting work on a PD project for use by DJ's in a live performance 
 context. The basic premise of the project is that the PD patch will select 
 and display media (still images  video) automatically based on the tempo and 
 complexity of the music. So at the start of the performance when the music is 
 minimal the patch will select and display only black and white still images, 
 as the tempo and complexity increases the patch should start displaying black 
 and white videos also. After a certain threshold is reached the patch should 
 display only colour videos. Hopefully the effect will be that as the night 
 progresses and the music gets faster and more complicated the images 
 displayed should move from BW stills into BW video and from there into 
 colour video, all automatically of course.
 
 My question is, is there a PD object (like an array) that will store these 
 sets of media for me?

Thanks Nikola, but im looking for a solution to record my vj sessions (with 
music) using [pdp_qt]. Some could think in [pdp_rec~], but when i seek the 
movie, the final time of the recorded video becomes variable.

Anyone who tells me how to use [pdp_rawout~]? I used the help patch but the 
final video is green-noisy.

Thanks Jack, but the problem with [pdp_rec] in this case you tell me, is if i 
seek the video, the time of the video recorded oscilates.

Anyone knows if with [pdp_rawout] (thanks Jay) happens the same?

Have a look at the help file about [pdp_rec~] and [pdp_glx].[pdp_glx] output 
mouse event messages when you are on the rendering window. So this message is 
not 'useful' for [pdp_rec~]You can do something like that (for exemple) 
:[pdp_qt]|[pdp_contrast]|\|  \|\|  \|  [pdp_rec~]|[pdp_glx]Then 
what you are recording (with [pdp_rec~]) is what you are seeing (with 
[pdp_glx]).++JackPS : don't forget to see what is output from an object (at its 
outlet(s)) and what an other object accept (at its inlet(s)) : have a look at 
the help patch.

the [pdp_route] object. This last object is waiting for a pdp packet and here

[pdp_route] accept only pdp packet (like movie). In your patch [K-looper] seems 
to output a symbol.++Jack

when i try to open a .mov with the patch i have attached this error message 
appear:
 
error: pdp_route: no method for 'symbol'
... you might be able to track this down from the Find menu.

Thanks Marius, it works now!

Anyway if i put [delay 2000] it doesn't work, do you know why?

Another question:  [delay 0] is not the same as don't put anything?

 what you do in your patch, is trigger pdp_qt~ with a zero before the 
 object has finished it's output.
 what you should do, to get the loop working is to add a [delay] before 
 frame 0 is triggered. I don't know if it should be a [delay 0] or a 
 [delay 40]. the delay could be related to the framerate and maybe the 
 last frame needs 1/25 s to play before the movie can be looped. just try 
 and see if this works better.

I think it should restart the movie when it finishes, but no..

Thanks but that's not what i was looking for.



I was working with [pdp_qt~] so I forgot to check [pdp_qt] help
patch..There are many more things explained there and i have discovered
what i want: I just have to pass a number to the second inlet.

If i send then for example a [45 to the right inlet, the file starts to play 
the file from the frame 45.

But should i do to get stopped the frame 45 when i send [45?

I want the second inlet gets the control of the play, is it possible?
