Re: [PD] sequencer app for osx (Iannis Xenakis?)

Hallo Ignacio,

ah, I see. Unfortunately I don't know of available software here. In
your situation, I would try to directly contact Peter Hoffmann.

Hello Ignacio,

if you google "GENDYN" you will find:
Peter Hoffmann, The New GENDYN Program,
Computer Music Journal, vol. 24, no. 2

Hello,

you could try to include the path in quotes in your Batch file, iike
"C:/Program Files/pd/patch/own"

Re: [PD] MOTU 828 PD windows problem

2006-12-01 Thread s.koepf

Hello,

to use MMIO go to "Media->standard (MMIO)->use muliple devices", to use
ASIO go to "Media->ASIO (via portaudio)". Alternatively you can start pd
on a command line or via batch files with appropiate switches like:
"path\to\pd\bin\pd ..." or "path\to\pd\bin\pd -mmio ..." for MMIO (mmio
is default) and "path\to\pd\bin\pd -pa ..." for ASIO.

You will find a list of command line arguments here: pd/doc/1.manual/x3.htm

I updated the motu driver and got PD working on all 16 channels I/O with the
asio driver. (Asio driver wasn't working at all before.) Still can't figure
out how to use MMIO, but it doesn't mater. Works now. Thanks a lot.

Subject: Re: [PD] MOTU 828 PD windows problem

hi pzuspann

when using MMIO, every pair of channels of the motu interface appears as
a separate device (1+2, 3+4, etc). so, if you want to use more than 2
channels, you need to toggle 'use multiple devices' and then you should
be able to assign a pair of channels to each 'slot'.

if the other devices do not appear in the audio-settings select dialog,
i would check with another software, if you can use more than two
channels, so to have an idea, if the driver is installed correctly.

another approach would be to use the ASIO driver. with ASIO you have
only one device for all channels, but you need to specifify in pd's
audio dialog, how many of them you want to use.

i once successfully used pd with the same interface (motu 828), so it
should work on your system as well. the only issue i had was, that the
even channels were swapped with their respective odd channels for some
reason, so the [dac~ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8] sent its signals to 2, 1, 4, 3, 6,
5, 8 ,7.

i hope, i could help.

I'm running windows xp with a MOTU 828. In PD, I can only use the first (2)
inputs and the first (2) outputs. Any ideas on how I can change the settings
to gain access to all the inputs/outputs?...I have the standard (MMIO) audio
set to MOTU Analog with 8 channels on input and output...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks...

Which reminds me to ask, does anyone know why expr's floor and ceil
require two arguments,

it is No 1464539 in the bug-tracker.

Because of a typo that Orm Finnendahl made in 2002.

and would it make sense to allow floor and ceil to work with a single
argument only?

Yes, but it wouldn't be backwards-compatible, unless [expr] allows
optional arguments, but there's no way to specify that in [expr]'s
function table.

Do you really think, we should keep this (bug) for backwards compatibility?
BTW, Orm told me once, that it wasn't he who wrote this code.
