[PD] Pd-0.39.2-extended-test7 Ubuntu problem

2007-01-29 Thread Fanouris Moraitis

Hi all,

I installed Pd-0.39.2-extended-test7-ubuntu-dapper-i386.tar.bz2
in Ubuntu 6.10
and use the instructions

tar xjf Pd-0.39.2-extended-test7-linux-i686.tar.bz2
cd Pd-0.39.2-extended-test7-linux-i686
make install prefix=/usr/local

It compiled ok.
But when I try to run it is seems that all
the libraries are not loading. When i try to open any of the examples
I have these messages

pmpd
... couldn't create

or

gemwin
... couldn't create

for example I did
pd -lib gem

but it says that It can't load the library

What am I doing wrong?
Do I have to set any path to the .pdsettings or something else?

thanks,

pd and your filesystem are case-sensitive, the library is called "Gem"
and not "gem".

try "pd -lib Gem"

if it still does not work, try "pd -verbose -lib Gem" and tell us what
it says.

Ok now I can see all the gems objects!

but what about all the others eg pmpd
still the objects cannot be created (you see them with these
lines(--) around them)

thanks

I've just learned this for Pd-extended: try putting an object called
[import pmpd] in one of your open patches.

2007-01-29 Thread Michal Seta
Hi,

Perhaps you have not copied .pdsettings from the
Pd-0.39.2-extended-test7-linux-i686 directory to your home.

So do:
cd Pd-0.39.2-extended-test7-linux-i686
cp .pdsettings ~/

and rerun pd... all should be fine after that.

./MiS

thanks that solved my problems!

The thing now is that I started to run the examples when
i togle off/on the gem window or just close it the pd crashes and I
have the following message

libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x4b
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x4b

File r300_render.c function r300Fallback line 406
Software fallback:ctx->Multisample.Enabled

Try R300_SPAN_DISABLE_LOCKING env var if this hangs.
socket receive error: Connection reset by peer (104)

also the pix_texture doesn't seem to work

my system is ubuntu 6.10
and my graphic card is ATI X300 Graphic

Sounds like you probably need to install the driver from ATI. A lot
of this latest-greatest 3D requires you to use the closed-sourse
binary drivers from the manufacturer.
