Re: [PD] error: counter: no method for 'reset'
You're correct about using [select], my messy version used moses with a bang after it in a similar way. Actually, I guess the most complex part of my patch WAS the integration of multiple counter modes. I'm still stuck w/ spigot mayhem...curses! ~Kyle On 5/6/07, Frank Barknecht <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hallo, > Kyle Klipowicz hat gesagt: // Kyle Klipowicz wrote: > > > This is a great little tutorial, but where is an elegant solution for > > an updown-type counter? Re: [PD] error: counter: no method for 'reset'
Yeah, actually what I'm trying to do is a bit more complicated, involving a counter that has 3 modes: 0: min -> max, 1: max -> min, and 2: min -> max -> min -> max etc... So I really just want to have the main functionality of the cyclone/counter, but with it actually working when I try to change the min value from 0 so that I can loop between min and max when min != 0. I'll try to cobble these suggestions into this, and I'll post what I have when it's done. ~Kyle On 5/6/07, Steffen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > On 06/05/2007, at 0.00, Kyle Klipowicz wrote: > > > updown-type counter > > What's that? A quick way would be to use [select] to reset the direction by sending "1" or "-1" to the [+ 1]. See attached. [select] is a bit dangerous in counters, though, as you might never reach the select number if you directly set the counter with a float, or if you change the borders, but for quick up-down-counting it works. This is a great little tutorial, but where is an elegant solution for an updown-type counter? I made one a few weeks ago, but it was a mess of spigots. In the email from Derek you see a lot of (maybe) wierd text at the end of the email. All the line start with the # character. Together they form the Pd patch. Re: [PD] error: counter: no method for 'reset'
Because there's a namespace conflict with different [counter] objects in different libraries. Why every library needed their own [counter] with the same name but dif behavior, I have no idea. Usually it is suggested to people that they build their own counters, instead of relying on the pre-built ones. It's a good exercise and not too hard, although the help example is lacking, in that it doesn't explain how to build your own "reset" into the counter, without which a counter is worthless, in my opinion. ~David On 4/9/07, Javier García <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi!, > > when i open "counter-help.pd" file and i press [reset message i get this > error: > > "error: counter: no method for 'reset'" > > why? > > _ > ¿Estás pensando en cambiar de coche?
