Hello, I am looking for xml cascades for OpenCV to detect hands. I want to use [pix_opencv_haarcascade] for this (thx Yves and Lluis ;) Do you have such a file or do you know where i can find it ? Hi, I also would like to find out how to do this. For me, i am developing a world in X3D. Sound is treated as a XML node, which has an associated transform in 3D space. So my question would be, how could i send something like this (audio stream?) to pd for processing? [PD] XML audio to pd
I'm working with an XML database (well in fact an X3D realtime immersive A-V environment) i have audio files referenced with this database is there a way that these streams(?) can be sent to pd to be manipulated? at any one time there may be several so from X3D i would have something like as well as empty elements, like Any thoughts? Well, there is an help pach: look in /externals/iem/iemxmlrpc (I think not a help patch, but an example patch). And you should be able to use that with any other language than python ... Do I need to run a python script along with the patch? Is there a help file some where? hmmm, I don't know so much about the server side yet. it is an
ontological database (which I was told is more complicated than a
mysql??) and there is a wrapper around it, which is talking to several
kiosk and screening moduls. we are defining queries and respond formats
which is sent as xml. I also don't know yet how efficient that protocol is.
georg's mysql script seems the way to go for mysql queries.

What do you wanna do (marius) ? Directly query the mySQL database ?
Then you could just do it in pyext (I posted a mySQL pyext-"external"
for pd some time ago to the list).
If you need communication to other languages or whatever, xmlrpc is nice
- I used it quite a lot for installations etc.

put a small python script (using pyext) and a testpatch online at

after I finished my script I found out that there is already an object
that does xml-rpc ("iemxmlrpc"). iem used it for the iArs project, but I
did not find the object?
I am planning to use it as a protocol to talk to a database server.
