Maybe is working in pd-extended with -lib pdcontainer or -lib PDContainer but mine is compilated. Hi, I also would like to find out how to do this. For me, i am developing a world in X3D. Sound is treated as a XML node, which has an associated transform in 3D space. So my question would be, how could i send something like this (audio stream?) to pd for processing? [PD] XML audio to pd
I'm working with an XML database (well in fact an X3D realtime immersive A-V environment) i have audio files referenced with this database is there a way that these streams(?) can be sent to pd to be manipulated? at any one time there may be several so from X3D i would have something like as well as empty elements, like Any thoughts? Well, there is an help pach: look in /externals/iem/iemxmlrpc (I think not a help patch, but an example patch). And you should be able to use that with any other language than python ... hmmm, I don't know so much about the server side yet. it is an ontological database (which I was told is more complicated than a mysql??) and there is a wrapper around it, which is talking to several kiosk and screening moduls. we are defining queries and respond formats which is sent as xml. I also don't know yet how efficient that protocol is. georg's mysql script seems the way to go for mysql queries. marius. Then you could just do it in pyext (I posted a mySQL pyext-"external" for pd some time ago to the list). I put a small python script (using pyext) and a testpatch online at http://www.parasitaere-kapazitaeten.net/pd/xml-rpc after I finished my script I found out that there is already an object that does xml-rpc ("iemxmlrpc"). iem used it for the iArs project, but I did not find the object? I am planning to use it as a protocol to talk to a database server.
