Re: [PD] [PD-announce] pd 0.53-1 released

2022-12-14 Thread Alexandre Torres Porres
One last thing came up in the pd dev list about q8_sqrt~ / q8_rsqrt~ being
the same as srqt~/rsqrt~ (for reference
https://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-dev/2022-12/023162.html )

I fixed this information in the documentation and have a new PR
https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/1855

maybe worth checking it and jamming it in for the final release around the
corner ;)

cheers

A time machine would be great, but the subject says "released" (using past
tense) and it said that more than 24h ago... :-)

btw IOhannes, I thought you were still about to work on a fix for the
externals that use the iemguis API, how's that one comming out?

Re: [PD] [random] and seed value

2022-12-14 Thread Julian Brooks
"there are definitely pieces out there where
the composer expects the "random" piece to sound like "that", and which
will no longer be true if [random] uses different seeds for each instance)."

Yes, I'm one of those...

[random] seems to rear its head now & then.
My memory is that when asked on here, Miller was a little coy about the algo
(when was highlighted on-list as an 'interesting' [non-standard]
implementation:)
